Launching the book series Kien Giang Geography

(CLO) The book "Kien Giang Geography" consists of 3 volumes with a total of 789 pages, recording quite comprehensively and systematically the natural geography, history, culture, economy , and society of Kien Giang province from past to present.

After 20 years of hard work, the book Kien Giang Geography with 3 volumes of notes was published and announced by the Propaganda Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee on the afternoon of December 17.

According to Head of the Propaganda Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Tong Phuoc Truong, Kien Giang is the southwesternmost province of the country and is considered a "miniature Vietnam" because it possesses a rich and unique terrain from plains, mountains to islands. The locality is also home to Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer ethnic groups, with diverse cultures and customs.

To introduce readers to the history and people of Kien Giang, the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Kien Giang province organized research and compiled the work Kien Giang Gazetteer.

After 20 years of research and compilation, the book "Geography of Kien Giang" has been completed and published. The book has 6 parts divided into 3 volumes with a total of 789 pages, recording quite comprehensively and systematically the natural geography, history, culture, economy and society of Kien Giang province from the past to the present.

The appendices and illustrations for the content are presented on the pages of that content for readers to easily follow, and are not structured into separate sections.

Regarding the time of reflection, the Kien Giang Gazetteer determined from the time of the formation of the Southern region until 2015. However, in some detailed contents of each part, additional data up to 2020 is mentioned as a trend of movement in the following years to match the time when the Gazetteer was published.

Mr. Tong Phuoc Truong affirmed that the book series Geography of Kien Giang is not only a scientific and cultural work of great significance to Kien Giang province but also a valuable, authenticeducational document, serving the research, teaching and learning about Kien Giang province.
