In this memoir, Emily Ratajkowski used her own career as a model and actress as a basis for discussion. Throughout the twelve chapters of the book, Ratajkowski opened up about her experiences of having her right to body ownership violated. For the first time, the model revealed details of the harassment she experienced during the filming of the music video “Blurred Lines” with over 800 million views, the secret deals between the rich and models, or the photographers blatantly selling her photos, etc.

As soon as it was released, "Than em" entered the New York Times Bestseller list.

Through her personal stories, Emily Ratajkowski openly questions the institutions and social stereotypes that govern women's body ownership: Who gets to define beauty? Who gets to decide a woman's body image? What role does the media play in controlling public standards of beauty?...

And perhaps the most unique point of the book is the author's candid view of the tendency to internalize the prejudices of patriarchal society in female politicians, at different stages and generations: the way mothers teach their children about beauty (from a male perspective) or the way women compare their attractiveness and beauty with each other,... Thus, women themselves are also deeply ingrained by the prejudices of patriarchal society and unconsciously give men the right to define their beauty and value. By looking directly at and analyzing the issue from many perspectives, "My Body" reminds women of their right to freely determine their bodies and calls on us to work together to end the discrimination and prejudice against women that still exists in today's society.

As soon as it was released, “Thần em” entered the New York Times Bestseller list and received rave reviews from major magazines. The book is considered a bold and straightforward indictment of those who turn women into trivial commodities and reaffirms that: “Women’s value must be determined by themselves”. “Thần em” is a must-read for those interested in feminism, gender equality and love the genre of authentic memoirs.
