The book "The Brush in God's Hand" offers a profound perspective by Dr. Nguyen Si Dung – an art collector, researcher, and politician with a deep understanding and love for art – on the life and creative career of painter Pham Luc. The title is inspired by former US Secretary of State John Kerry's remark about Pham Luc's talent when he first saw his paintings.

In this book, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung not only recounts the life of Pham Luc from his childhood in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh , through the war years, to his rise to fame as a painter, but also provides a subtle and profound analysis of his artistic style and soul. Along with that are the touching stories behind each painting, revealing the deep affection he has for the artist.

The 230-page book contains over 160 paintings, featuring the most beautiful and representative works from the vast collection of over a thousand pieces by the talented artist Pham Luc, which Dr. Nguyen Si Dung currently owns.

With his intimate and sincere writing style, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung has helped readers better understand a talented artist and a deeply emotional person like Pham Luc. The book is not only a document on art but also a story about life, love, and faith in humanity and life. Published by the Fine Arts Publishing House in both Vietnamese and English versions.

At the book launch, art lovers also had the opportunity to admire beautiful paintings by artist Pham Luc. The 70 works on display show that Pham Luc is not simply an artist; he is a storyteller of Vietnamese national history through painting. From images of soldiers in the great national resistance war to hardworking mothers, simple country folk, and everyday moments, all are depicted by him with expressive and realistic brushstrokes.

The exhibition runs until April 24, 2025.
