On October 8th, Ms. Tran Thi Thao, Deputy Secretary and Chairwoman of the Ben Cat Ward People's Committee, chaired a meeting to hear a report and proposals from the Department of Economy , Infrastructure and Urban Development regarding traffic safety in the ward.
Upon review, the ward has several key transportation routes passing through it, such as National Highway 13, Provincial Road 741B, Provincial Road 749A, and My Phuoc - Tan Van road. These vital routes, combined with the local roads that have been largely completed, have contributed to the overall freight transport between Ho Chi Minh City and the northern provinces.

In addition, the area has 11 district roads and 488 commune roads. Most of these roads were built quite a long time ago, so the roadbeds are weak, with many places peeling off and creating potholes, posing a traffic safety hazard.

Specifically, sections of National Highway 13 passing through Ben Cat ward and several routes within the industrial zone frequently experience localized flooding during prolonged heavy rains.
According to residents' feedback, traffic lights at some locations are inappropriate or malfunctioning. Some roads are damaged and deteriorated, posing a danger to road users.
In light of the above situation, Ms. Tran Thi Thao requested the Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Development to coordinate with relevant units to find solutions to address the issue promptly.

Regarding traffic "black spots" that voters and citizens have complained about and made suggestions on, Ms. Tran Thi Thao noted that the relevant departments need to address them promptly to ensure the safety of people participating in traffic. The remediation work must be thorough and avoid repeated repairs that cause waste and compromise the safety of road users.
