In early December, the beach in Dong Ninh Hoa ward was littered with trash, stretching along the shoreline in piles of everything from tree branches, plastic bags, and plastic bottles to styrofoam floats...

From the East Sea embankment southward, many sections of the coastline are covered with accumulated garbage, deeply embedded in the sand. The foul odor emanating from the area is a cause for concern among locals and tourists who come to swim.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich, who had returned from Ho Chi Minh City to visit relatives, was surprised to see the beach covered in trash. She lamented, "If there wasn't this trash, this would be a very worthwhile destination."
According to Mr. Tran Tuan, a local resident, large chunks of trash continuously drift ashore when the tide rises. This situation repeats itself. Despite regular collection efforts by urban environmental forces and residents, the amount of trash continues to accumulate.

Located more than 4km south of Dong Hai beach, Ninh Thuy beach also has trash scattered along its shore.
Alarmingly, untreated wastewater from many households flows through storm drains and shared alleyways, directly into the sea.
Trash and dirty water make the beach unsightly, the water near the shore is murky and cloudy, greatly affecting the environment and aesthetics.

The dark, foul-smelling wastewater flows directly into the sea, "tearing apart" the sandy beach.
Many locals and tourists are concerned and hope that the authorities will soon find solutions to deal with the amount of waste and the wastewater discharge system, restoring the beach to its clean and beautiful state, and preventing environmental pollution and its impact on public health.

Speaking to reporters, the leader of the Dong Ninh Hoa ward People's Committee said that the local government has launched several cleanup campaigns along the beach, but the amount of trash washed ashore by the waves is too large and difficult to control completely.
Over the weekend, the ward continued to mobilize forces and coordinate with residents to collect garbage.
Regarding the issue of water pipes and drainage ditches discharging into the sea, which has existed for many years, the People's Committee of the ward has directed an inspection and resolution.
