Engineer Le Van Thien, from the Safety Engineering Department of the Power Project Management Board 2, who is supervising the construction site of the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project, was surprised by the unique "Lao wind and white sand" of Quang Tri .
He shared: “I worked for 10 years on thermal power projects in Thai Binh, but mainly in the central control room. I was transferred to the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project at my own request, and now I work on the construction site.”
Despite the scorching heat, engineers and workers like engineer Le Van Thien are working day and night, taking turns at the construction site. The Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project is expected to begin commercial operation of unit 1 in July and unit 2 in October 2026.
Racing against time, the Power Project Management Board 2 has urged contractors to mobilize all resources to ensure the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project commences commercial operation on schedule.

Meanwhile, at the Cam Lien Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Investment Project, under the scorching sun exceeding 40 ° C in the sandy region, officials, engineers, and workers are still diligently working. Currently, the project is constructing the main road, wastewater treatment plant, and administration building.
Engineer Nguyen Thanh Hung, representing the construction unit, said: “To meet the project's deadline, we are currently working three shifts. Although it's summer and the weather is hot, this is the best time for construction. Therefore, our engineers and workers are ready to stay on site. The workers must wear thick but breathable protective clothing to avoid the heat. According to the plan, we will hand over the project in September 2026, but we will try to complete it one month ahead of schedule.”

Engineer Truong Van Duong, a native of the sandy region of Quang Tri, graduated from the Hanoi University of Water Resources and has traveled extensively throughout the country on construction projects. This time, working under the scorching sun of his homeland, he truly understands the hardships faced by the people here in their struggle for survival.
Mr. Duong shared: “We only work under the scorching sun for about 6 months, while our parents' generation has lived here for decades. More than anyone else, we hope the project will soon be operational so that the lives of the people in this sandy area can improve.”
The Cam Lien Industrial Park project covers an area of 450 hectares with a total investment of 2,200 billion VND; phase 1 will cover 200 hectares. Always present at the construction site alongside the contractors, the investor, Capella Quang Binh Investment Co., Ltd., hopes to accelerate the project's progress so that land can be quickly provided to domestic and foreign businesses investing there.
