These days, the grounds of the Trung Vuong Theater are more vibrant than ever as it hosts its first-ever spring festival for the community.
According to Mr. Mai Duy Linh, Deputy Director of Trung Vuong Theater, the spring festival will take place from February 6th to 8th (from 8 AM to 10 PM), chaired by Trung Vuong Theater in coordination with the Hai Chau Ward People's Committee and other relevant units.
The event is designed as a comprehensive cultural space, combining art performances, experiences of Tet customs, cuisine , and the introduction of local products, serving the needs of locals and tourists celebrating the Lunar New Year.
"We want to create a space where locals and tourists can enjoy art, experience Tet customs, and shop for local specialties right in the heart of the city. This is also a way for the Trung Vuong Theater to proactively bring cultural activities closer to everyday life," Mr. Linh shared.

The highlight of the spring festival is the series of community-oriented art programs. On the evening of February 6th, the "Spring Colors for Children" program took place with performances for children; on the evening of February 7th, the "Vibrant Spring Colors" program featured many elaborately staged song and dance performances, recreating the lively atmosphere of spring. The first night's performance attracted a large audience, especially young families.
In addition, workshops offering traditional cultural experiences such as wrapping banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), making Tet calendars, painting, creating relief paintings, mosaic art, and painting tote bags are organized throughout the event. The children's experience zone provides a creative playground while also contributing to spreading an environmentally friendly message.

The Spring Festival also includes a livestream session showcasing local products through digital platforms, thereby widely promoting the products and creating more shopping options for people during Tet.
Spreading cultural values
At the spring festival, experiential activities help visitors deeply appreciate the beauty of traditional culture. Mr. Nguyen Anh Khoa (Hai Chau ward) said that the fact that the Trung Vuong Theater organized the spring festival right in the city center brings a fresh feeling to young people.
"Through this activity, I had the opportunity to learn about traditional customs in a more intimate way. After experiencing making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) here, I feel more confident to prepare them with my family for Tet (Lunar New Year) this year," Khoa shared.

Ms. Tran My Quyen, representative of the Green Startup group, said that the group participated in the spring festival with colored ink made from organic waste. The group both displayed their products and coordinated activities such as painting with organic colors for young people, especially children.
“This is the first time the Trung Vuong Theater has organized a spring festival, creating opportunities for businesses and organizations to showcase their products. We hope that the hands-on painting activity using organic colors will help children be both creative and better understand environmentally friendly products,” Ms. Quyen said.

According to the organizers, the stable attendance at the spring festival shows that people are very interested in community cultural activities during Tet. This also provides a basis for the Trung Vuong Theater to continue researching suitable models in the future.
"We hope that through the spring festival, more people and tourists will come to the Trung Vuong Theater to enjoy the arts and participate in cultural activities that are close to everyday life," said Mr. Mai Duy Linh.
