According to Nguyen Khanh Hiep, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports : “To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, departments, agencies, and many localities in the province organized cultural, artistic, and sports activities. These activities were vibrant and widespread, tailored to the conditions of each unit and locality, contributing to the promotion of the campaign “All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh,” the movement of national unity in building a cultured life, improving the physical and mental well-being of the people, and creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere leading up to the important national holidays.”

Visual propaganda and promotion through banners, billboards, posters, slogans, flags, etc., were implemented urgently and simultaneously in all localities. The Provincial Cultural and Arts Center deployed 200 vertical banners, 20 horizontal banners, 30 small billboards, and 4 large billboards in Rach Gia ward; and 56 box flags (decal), 10 billboards, and 20 horizontal banners in Long Xuyen ward. Communes, wards, and special zones throughout the province deployed approximately 4,340 banners, 1,250 billboards, and 65,799 colorful flags, red flags, cluster flags, pennants, Party flags, national flags, etc., at agency headquarters, bridge points, main roads, and community locations.

A highlight of the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd is the art program on the evening of September 2nd in wards and special zones such as Rach Gia, Phu Quoc, Ha Tien, Chau Doc, and Long Xuyen. In addition, after the art program, there will be fireworks displays in Rach Gia ward and Phu Quoc special zone; and an artistic fireworks display in Ha Tien ward for the public.

In Rach Gia ward, the meticulously staged, emotionally rich, and colorful art program created a unique artistic atmosphere, featuring performances such as: "Triumphal March - The Homeland in My Heart," "Song of Unity," "The Party and the Vietnamese Fatherland," "Remembering Uncle Ho in May," "I Love the Vietnamese Fatherland," etc. Following the art program was a spectacular fireworks display that attracted a large crowd. Mr. Le Phuc Hai, a resident of Rach Gia ward, expressed: "The artistic performances were excellent, conveying meaningful messages, spreading cultural and historical values, national pride, and love for the homeland. The fireworks display was also a feast for the eyes. It was well worth my family's trip to see it…"

Nguyen Van Dong, Director of the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts, shared: “The art program is an epic, praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the homeland, and the country's renewal; the aspiration for progress of the Party Committee, government, and people of An Giang in the period of renewal, integration, and development… At the same time, it is a profound expression of gratitude to the previous generations who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; affirming the aspiration to rise up and build a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland and country.”

In order to diversify the forms of serving the cultural and sports needs of the people, localities in the province organize vibrant physical education and sports activities to serve the recreational needs of the people. These sports events not only create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere to celebrate major holidays, but also contribute to maintaining and developing the physical education and sports movement in the province.
