Alongside patriotic emulation movements, the movement for national unity in building a cultured way of life continues to be identified as a core movement, positively impacting socio -economic development in the locality. Over the years, Party committees, government agencies, and the Fatherland Front in the province have actively promoted the movement for national unity in building a cultured way of life with many innovative and effective approaches. Many localities have focused on innovating forms of propaganda; integrating the key contents of the movement with local tasks and patriotic emulation movements. Cultural institutions and cultural, artistic, and sports activities are becoming increasingly vibrant, diverse, and attractive, meeting the needs of the people for cultural and spiritual enjoyment.
There have also been many positive changes in the implementation of civilized practices in weddings and funerals. Festivals are organized according to state regulations, ensuring economy, solemnity, and civility.
The movement for national unity in building a cultured way of life is increasingly developing and spreading. Through this, thousands of exemplary individuals and groups have emerged, demonstrating good deeds and outstanding achievements in all fields, creating momentum to inspire and develop the talents and intellect of individuals and groups in learning, working, production, and business. Mr. Do Van Tung (66 years old), residing in Thoai Son commune, shared: “As a retired official, besides setting a good example for my children and grandchildren to follow, I also actively encourage relatives and people to strictly abide by the law, actively participate in social and charitable activities, and work together to build a cultured way of life and make our homeland increasingly prosperous.”
Upon arriving in An Chau commune, the first impression is of a peaceful rural landscape, well-maintained roads, friendly and open people, and strong community bonds. During the day, people engage in agricultural production and labor; in the evening, they gather with their families or participate in cultural and sports activities. According to Nguyen Ngoc Den, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Chau commune, in addition to mobilizing resources to effectively implement social welfare activities, the locality has many effective approaches that not only help many households escape poverty but also reduce the risk of re-poverty. Many new models and good practices have been replicated, such as: building solidarity houses for the poor, constructing charitable rural bridges, providing free patient transport, shelters for the needy, preferential credit; and providing capital, seedlings, and livestock.
Recognizing the building of culturally exemplary families as a central task, the Steering Committee for Family Affairs and the Movement for National Unity in Building a Culturally Rich Life at all levels has actively propagated and widely disseminated among the people the criteria for recognizing culturally exemplary families. To date, the entire province has recognized 914,367 culturally exemplary households, reaching 94.69%; and recognized 1,794 culturally exemplary hamlets, neighborhoods, and villages, reaching 98.14%.
Mr. Chau Sone, Head of Phuoc Tho Hamlet, O Lam Commune, said: “The contents of the movement for national unity in building a cultured life have been actively embraced by the people. Each family joins hands in building a cultured family and a cultured residential area. People actively participate in cultural and sports movements, unite to help each other develop the economy, and build happy families. Thanks to this, Phuoc Tho has continuously maintained the title of cultured hamlet for many years.”
