Blackburn Rovers deny rumours of Wayne Rooney appointment.

Sharing on Independent , Rudy Gestede, Director of Football of Blackburn Rovers, denied the possibility of inviting Rooney to become the team's head coach. "We are happy with Valerian and want to give him more time. Choosing a coach is based on a long-term project, so changing now is not reasonable," Gestede emphasized.

Previously, British media reported that Blackburn Rovers wanted to bring Rooney in to replace coach Valerian. The former Manchester United striker himself was also ready to accept the job, after being unemployed since the end of last year.

However, at the last minute, Blackburn Rovers changed their mind. With Gestede's announcement, the door to Rooney's coaching career is closed again. After parting ways with Plymouth Argyle at the end of last year, Rooney admitted that he still dreams of coaching and is ready to return if there is a reasonable offer.

Rooney has recently returned to his role as a television commentator. Since becoming a coach, Rooney has encountered many difficulties. The former England international failed when leading Derby County, DC United, Birmingham City and most recently Plymouth Argyle.

Notably, Rooney's time in charge of Birmingham lasted just 15 games before he was sacked in January. At Plymouth, Rooney also only managed the team for more than 6 months before having to leave because the team finished bottom of the Championship.
