Sam Altman has been reinstated as CEO of OpenAI.

In OpenAI's latest statement, they have reached an "agreement in principle" for Sam Altman to return as CEO, and the company is also changing its board of directors structure.

OpenAI's announcement appears to have brought to a close a tumultuous week, paving the way for the reinstatement of Sam Altman as CEO. Prior to this, the company had unexpectedly announced that Altman was no longer CEO and had stepped down from the board.

Sam Altman will continue to lead OpenAI in the future.

In addition, OpenAI's board of directors will also undergo significant changes. Former Salesforce CEO Bret Taylor, Quora founder Adam D'Angelo, and former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers have been selected as new board members.
