Ho Chi Minh City theaters will have another play about General Le Van Duyet.

The Idecaf Theatre recently held a rehearsal for the historical play 'General Le Van Duyet' (directed by Hoang Duan; script edited and revised by Vo Tu Uyen from the original work by author Pham Van Quy).

On the full moon of the first lunar month (February 24th), the Idecaf Theatre crew visited the Ong Ba Chieu mausoleum (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) to offer incense and begin rehearsals for the play " Duke Le Van Duyet, the Left General" .

The original script, written by author Pham Van Quy, was titled " The Man with Nine Death Sentences ," and was staged by the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theatre as the play "General Le Van Duyet " (directed by the late People's Artist Doan Hoang Giang) in 2008.

At the time, this was a large-scale historical play, costing billions of dong to produce and featuring over 100 actors. The role of General Le Van Duyet was played by artist Quyen Linh.
