On the afternoon of April 3rd, the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) conducted an inspection of the pitch at My Dinh National Stadium. VPF confirmed that the My Dinh stadium pitch meets the standards for hosting V.League matches. The match between The Cong Viettel and Quang Nam on April 6th will still take place at My Dinh Stadium. However, VPF requested that The Cong Viettel Club cooperate with the stadium management to further improve the quality of the pitch.

In the quarter-finals of the National Cup, the match between The Cong Viettel and HAGL took place on a very poor pitch, affecting the quality of play. Coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his counterpart Le Quang Trai both complained about the pitch conditions.

More importantly, center-back Pham Ly Duc suffered an injury that sidelined him for a month, the cause of which stemmed from the poor quality of the pitch.

The My Dinh Stadium has seriously deteriorated partly due to poor turf maintenance and upkeep after numerous cultural events. In December 2024, My Dinh Stadium hosted two nights of the "Brother Says Hi" music concert, rendering the turf unsuitable for matches in the ASEAN Cup 2024. Following this, the VFF decided to hold all of the Vietnamese national team's home matches in Phu Tho .

Recently, My Dinh Stadium has continued to be rented out for various cultural events and amateur football tournaments. As a result, the condition of the pitch continues to be affected.

My Dinh Stadium has been allocated 8 billion VND for turf repairs. The plan was approved at the end of last year, so this year the sports sector is proceeding with the renovation and improvement. It is expected that the entire turf will be repaired and the base level redone. The current turf has 20 layers, and in the near future, it will be dug to 40-50 layers for a complete overhaul. In addition, the watering system will also be upgraded.

On April 3rd, the Government Office issued document No. 2790/VPCP-KGVX dated April 3rd, 2025, conveying the directives of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh regarding the plan for effectively utilizing My Dinh National Stadium.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently conduct research and develop a plan for the efficient exploitation of My Dinh National Stadium, ensuring it is used effectively and avoids waste and deterioration; and to report to the Prime Minister before April 15, 2025.
