New product made from Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms.

(QBĐT) - To enrich mushroom products, the Tuan Linh Clean Mushroom Production and Agricultural Business Cooperative (hereinafter referred to as Tuan Linh Cooperative) in Son Loc commune (Bo Trach district) has recently explored and boldly applied high technology, introducing a new variety of Ganoderma lucidum mushroom for experimental cultivation and processing into tea bags, opening up more opportunities for economic development in rural areas.

According to experts, mushroom cultivation in Quang Binh has been developing in recent years due to increasing demand. As a result, many households have improved their lives and found employment thanks to mushroom farming. Popular mushroom varieties currently cultivated include: Reishi mushrooms, straw mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, and oyster mushrooms.

As a unit specializing in producing and supplying mushroom substrate bags, growing materials, and products from edible to medicinal mushrooms, Tuan Linh Cooperative has successfully implemented the "Experimental Cultivation and Processing of Ganoderma lucidum Mushroom Tea in Filter Bags" model. This has further developed mushroom cultivation and diversified mushroom products in the province, aligning with the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector and the national target program for building new rural areas.

Reishi mushrooms are a valuable medicinal herb, well-suited to the climate and soil conditions of the province.

Through research and practical experience, Ganoderma lucidum (or Coriolus versicolor) is a species of mushroom that grows on decaying wood, thriving in damp places under the canopy of natural forests. Today, Ganoderma lucidum is cultivated, harvested, and used in many places around the world due to its high medicinal and economic value. Ganoderma lucidum is also commonly used in the form of tea, brewed into a drink or consumed daily. Among these, tea bags are being researched and produced by many companies due to their convenience, providing both refreshment and health benefits for users.

In Son Ly village, Son Loc commune, Tuan Linh Cooperative implemented the model based on the unit's existing infrastructure, basically meeting the needs for producing mushroom substrate bags and processing Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms. During the implementation of the model, the cooperative invested in building an additional ^{200m² of} mushroom substrate storage house to meet the needs of experimental cultivation. The mushroom growing house structure has an insulated corrugated iron roof, corrugated iron and mesh walls, and a concrete floor. The model has conducted three production cycles with 6,000 mushroom substrate bags each cycle, meeting the objectives of the experimental model and perfecting the technical process for producing and processing Ganoderma lucidum tea suitable for the local area.

According to the assessment of the Department of Science and Technology, the "Experimental Cultivation and Processing of Ganoderma Lucidum Mushroom Tea Bags" model implemented by Tuan Linh Cooperative from August 2023 to the present has been basically completed according to the approved project proposal. The cooperative has established a model with the production and cultivation of 18,000 mushroom bags; produced 450 kg of commercial dried Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms; and developed a model for processing Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom tea bags, successfully producing 7,200 boxes of 60g Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom tea bags from 450 kg of raw mushrooms. Notably, Tuan Linh Cooperative has perfected the process of cultivating and processing Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom tea bags.

According to Nguyen Quoc Huong, Chairman of the Board and General Director of Tuan Linh Cooperative: During the trial period, technicians closely monitored and found that Ganoderma lucidum, a valuable medicinal mushroom, is suitable for the climate and soil conditions in the province; the cultivation process developed well according to the cycle. To date, the unit has harvested two batches, processed the product, and it has been well received by the market.

In the coming period, the cooperative will coordinate with local organizations to disseminate and guide the replication of the model to farmers; this includes investing in opening training courses to transfer technology to farmers, especially those in remote areas, to create stable jobs for laborers. Tuan Linh Cooperative will also act as a liaison, providing technical support and purchasing products to ensure a market for farmers' output.

“Testing and perfecting the process of growing and processing Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms to suit the climate conditions and raw materials used as substrates is the basis for Tuan Linh Cooperative to develop and expand the model, creating products that are beneficial to society, creating jobs for many rural workers, contributing to improving the lives of people in the disadvantaged areas of Bo Trach district in particular and Quang Binh province in general; at the same time, providing the market with quality Ganoderma lucidum mushroom products, ensuring food safety and hygiene, building brand and trust with customers, and meeting the increasingly high demands of consumers,” added Nguyen Cam Long, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Bo Trach district.
