Landslides on National Highway 40B and DT606

DNO - On the evening of November 16, the management units of National Highway 40B and DT606 said that landslides reoccurred due to heavy rain in the communes of Nam Tra My and Hung Son.

A representative of the National Highway 40B management unit informed that a landslide occurred at km110+600 (Nam Tra My commune), causing traffic congestion. After nearly 2 hours of clearing, by 7:00 p.m. the same day, vehicles could move in one lane through this route.

The slope of Provincial Road 606 has collapsed at km51+220 (Hung Son commune). Motorbikes can pass through the temporary road, but cars cannot.

The route management unit shared that it is currently raining heavily and it is dark, making it very dangerous for the task force to clear the road because landslides may continue to occur. The management unit arranged for a loader in advance, and on the morning of November 17, it will clear the road within an hour.

On the DT601 route, the repair of the landslide section managed by the Department of Construction of Da Nang City from km20+005 to km35+681 (Hai Van ward) encountered obstacles. The reason is that the road surface from km20+005 to km20+400 of the DT601 route has completely collapsed, and the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway adjacent to this section has also collapsed. The DT601 route management unit has barricaded itself to prevent vehicles from passing through.

Also on the DT601 route, the road surface at km33+900 has completely collapsed and collapsed with a length of about 50m and a depth of about 7m. The management unit has not been able to access to inspect and confirm the damage (this section is uninhabited).
