(To Quoc) - Sconnect Studio Joint Stock Company and Dat Phi Media Entertainment Company Limited have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), laying the foundation for the upcoming animated blockbuster films.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tung - Director of Sconnect Studio and Mr. Nguyen Dat Phi - General Director of Dat Phi Media. As companies with extensive experience and unique strengths in the "eighth art" (film), this historic collaboration between Sconnect Studio and Dat Phi Media promises to deliver products that satisfy both the auditory and visual senses.

The collaboration between Dat Phi Media and Sconnect Studio will leverage the strengths of both sides to create products of international quality.

Sconnect Studio is a pioneering company in the field of animated feature films, and a member of the Sconnect ecosystem. The company currently owns the largest Stopmotion animation studio in Vietnam and has produced popular animated series that have captivated young audiences worldwide , such as Tiny Series, Luka, and Wolfoo. In addition, Sconnect Studio is also the producer of the first commercially produced Vietnamese animated feature film, "Wolfoo and the Mysterious Island," which reached the top 3 in box office revenue in its opening week.

Most recently, the company announced two animated film projects that are entering the final stages of completion and are expected to be released to audiences in 2025: "Wolfoo and the Three Worlds Race" (2D technology) and "Blank Blank" (Stopmotion technology). While "Wolfoo and the Three Worlds Race" marks the return of the mischievous wolf Wolfoo since "Wolfoo and the Mysterious Island," "Blank Blank" is the first Stopmotion film in Vietnam to be released in a live-action format. Dat Phi Media's participation will help perfect the sound design of the films, providing an audiovisual experience that meets international standards.

With over 10 years of experience in voice-over, narration, and audio post-production in Vietnam, Dat Phi Media is a key partner of leading global film studios such as Walt Disney Studios, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Paramount Pictures.

Mr. Nguyen Dat Phi - General Director of Dat Phi Media - has over 40 years of experience working in the field of voice-over, having held important roles at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center and Vinh Long Radio and Television Station.

Sharing his thoughts on this collaboration, Mr. Nguyen Dat Phi said: "When I was invited to dub the film 'Wolfoo and the Race of the Three Realms,' I was truly delighted and worked with all my might, just as I have done with foreign companies. I am even more excited and proud to see projects produced by Vietnam itself."

"Our voice actors have lent their voices to many international animated film projects released in Vietnam. We have always longed to use our mother tongue to dub original Vietnamese animated films. We hope there will be more Vietnamese animation projects so that our voice actors have more opportunities to showcase their talents, and perhaps even contribute to the development of the domestic film industry," Mr. Dat Phi further shared.

Sound is one of the most important elements of a film because it contributes to conveying emotions fully to the viewer. Dat Phi Media's experience working with many leading studios will be very helpful in realizing the dream of "the Disney of Vietnam."

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Content Director of CJ CGV Vietnam, highly appreciates the fact that Vietnamese companies are producing animated films for theatrical release.

Assessing the opportunities and potential of the animated film market, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Content Director of CJ CGV Vietnam, affirmed: "Hollywood considers Vietnam the land of animation, because all Hollywood and European animated films released in Vietnam achieve very good sales. Our market is recognized by Hollywood in this way, yet we are losing opportunities on our home turf."

The Vietnamese market is showing great interest from audiences in animated films shown in theaters; however, this fertile ground remains dominated by international filmmakers, lacking domestic productions. As a nascent market, Vietnamese animation needs an ecosystem with the participation of many production and distribution companies, working together to strengthen their capabilities and compete with products from established animation "empires."
