Following the defeat against Australia, coach Shin Tae Yong unexpectedly mentioned the possibility of resigning as head coach of the Indonesian national team. The South Korean coach shared: "I received an offer a week ago. I will not accept any more offers to coach a Southeast Asian team. I still have many discussions about renewing my contract with PSSI."

Following this news, the President of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI), Erick Thohir, affirmed: "From a professional standpoint, I would not object if coach Shin Tae Yong resigned. I am a professional, so I adhere to those principles."

Recently, billionaire Erick Thohir stated that he has no intention of renewing coach Shin Tae Yong's contract. Instead, PSSI wants to wait for the results of the Indonesian U23 team at the U23 Asian Championship before deciding on the future of the South Korean strategist.
