According to Anthropic, the US government has allowed the company to re-release its powerful artificial intelligence (AI) model, Claude Mythos 5, to a number of "trusted" organizations within the country.
This move marks a partial reversal of the order suspending access that was issued two weeks ago due to national security concerns.
Reuters , citing sources close to the matter, revealed that more than 100 companies and organizations will have access to Mythos 5, including many Fortune 500 corporations.
On June 12th, Anthropic's leadership received an urgent notification from the White House, giving them only 90 minutes to remove their two newest AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, from the market.
The reason given was that these systems threatened national security. The ban immediately blocked access to these two technologies for all foreign users and businesses.
According to a source close to the matter, Anthropic immediately descended into chaos, with the company's internal messaging system, serving over 3,000 employees, constantly erupting in panicked discussions. Notably, company management had to repeatedly revise announcements to explain the situation to subordinates.
In the scores published by Anthropic, Fable 5/Mythos 5 outperformed the rest of the market across all metrics.
The results are even more convincing when this AI company uses Opus 4.8 as a reference. This company's model is highly regarded for its intelligence, performance, and especially its superior programming capabilities compared to comparable options from OpenAI or Google.
