Students at the American International School Vietnam (AISVN) were confused because there were no teachers in class.
Accordingly, based on the report from AISVN and the minutes of the inspection team's meeting as per Decision 627 of the Department of Education and Training dated March 19, the Department of Education and Training requests the Chairman of the School Board and the Principal of AISVN to urgently implement several measures.
Ensuring maximum educational opportunities for students.
Specifically, the school must comply with regulations on professional activities, school management, and regulations on the duties and powers of the principal regarding the school's educational activities.
The Department of Education and Training requires AISVN to quickly find solutions to address and put an end to the mass resignation of teachers, ensuring the stable organization of educational activities at the school. The school must implement solutions to maintain and organize teaching and educational activities according to the planned curriculum, ensuring maximum learning opportunities for students.
We must address the issue of students transferring schools based on their needs.
In addition, the school must facilitate student transfers based on parental requests.
In addition, AISVN must submit a written report on its educational activities to the Department of Education and Training (through the Non-Public Educational Institution Management Division) before 3 PM daily.
In the official document, the Department of Education and Training requested that the heads of the district and city education departments, the principals of high schools, multi-level schools, and schools with foreign investment create favorable conditions for receiving students who wish to transfer from AISVN to study there.
Reportedly, on March 18th, all students at AISVN International School had to stay home from school because teachers were not coming to school due to unpaid salaries.
By March 19th, although students were at school, they had to study on their own in the canteen, library, etc., due to the lack of teachers.
Speaking to a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper, a parent said: "As of March 16th, more than 14 days have passed, and over 1,400 students of all levels at AISVN have had to endure going to school every day without knowing whether they will be able to learn or not. Teachers may or may not come to school because they haven't been paid since January. And the reality is that some classes have teachers, while in other classes hundreds of students sit idle because there are no teachers..."
