The Thai Hoa Palace now boasts a majestic appearance after its restoration.

This project not only serves conservation efforts but also aims at the digital transformation of heritage, helping to authentically recreate and preserve cultural values through digital platforms. This is an important prerequisite for preserving and promoting Hue's heritage to domestic and international tourists.

The 3D scanning and digital photography of the Thai Hoa Palace will continue until the end of 2025; the database construction process will be completed by June 2026 according to Vietnamese and international standards.

The Thai Hoa Palace is the most important, majestic, and magnificent architectural structure in the Nguyen Dynasty's imperial palace, symbolizing the power of the court. It is not only an architectural masterpiece but also a repository of literary works in the unique "one poem, one painting" style, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Documentary Heritage under the Memory of the World Programme for the Asia-Pacific region.

The comprehensive conservation and restoration project of the Thai Hoa Palace was launched in November 2021 with a total investment of nearly 129 billion VND. After 3 years of construction, at the end of November 2024, the project was completed 9 months ahead of schedule and has become an unmissable tourist destination when visiting the Hue Imperial Citadel.

According to the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center, the Thai Hoa Palace was built by Emperor Gia Long in 1805 in the area of the Dai Cung Mon gate. In 1833, Emperor Minh Mang had the structure rebuilt in its current location. This was where the Emperor sat on his throne, held court sessions, grand ceremonies, and important rituals, marking the ups and downs of the history of 13 Nguyen Dynasty emperors.
