At Luc Yen Regional Medical Center, digital transformation is not only a major policy but has become a solution that brings clear results in people's health care.
Luc Yen Regional Medical Center is currently a Grade II, multi-functional medical service unit with 4 functional rooms, 11 departments, specialized rooms; 1 Methadone treatment facility; 1 regional polyclinic and a system of commune health stations. With a scale of 232 beds and 250 staff, the unit receives on average 200 - 300 outpatients per day, and 160 - 200 inpatients. Not only stopping at a large workload, the medical team here has successfully performed many difficult surgeries, saving the lives of patients in emergency situations.

In recent years, many modern medical equipment such as ultrasound, X-ray, electrocardiogram, hematology, bone densitometry, electroencephalogram, gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic surgery, etc. have been invested synchronously, helping to diagnose and treat more accurately and promptly. In particular, the information technology infrastructure has been equipped and connected, creating a foundation for the Center to carry out digital transformation in the medical examination and treatment process.
In the past, patients had to wait in line for many steps and complete a series of procedures when they went to the hospital. Now, people can register online, pay hospital fees without cash, and use chip-embedded citizen identification cards to replace many types of documents. Thanks to that, medical examination and treatment are both quick, transparent, and public.

Mr. Doan Van Hai in Luc Yen commune shared: Before, every time I went to see a doctor, I had to queue up early in the morning and do many procedures. Now, with just a few operations on the phone, everything from registration to paying hospital fees is quick and easy.
Patients' testimonials show the positive changes that digital transformation brings. With that same spirit, many people have clearly felt the convenience when coming to the Center for medical examination and treatment.
Ms. Tang Thi Lan in Tan Linh commune shared: I used my citizen ID card to register for medical examination. When the medical staff scanned the QR code, all personal information and medical examination history appeared. Thanks to that, the doctor quickly grasped the medical history, and the patient did not have to declare many times, very convenient.

Not only for the people, the medical team also inherits the benefits that digital transformation brings. The software system synchronized between departments and rooms has helped shorten the time, increasing the accuracy in diagnosis and treatment.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen, Examination Department, Luc Yen Regional Medical Center shared: With the automatic number taking system, linking the patient calling software, the examination process takes place quickly, in the right order, without making the patient wait long. Test results and diagnoses are also connected between departments, helping doctors have full information for treatment.
These improvements quickly showed their effectiveness in practice. In just 8 months of 2025, Luc Yen Regional Medical Center received nearly 110,000 medical examinations, reaching nearly 80% of the annual plan. The number of inpatients reached more than 6,400, with bed occupancy reaching 92.8%. In particular, the patient satisfaction rate reached 99%. Many new techniques that previously had to be transferred to higher levels have now been deployed locally, such as endoscopic surgery, cancer screening tests, and thyroid disease management. This not only reduces costs and travel time for people, but also affirms the increasingly solid professional capacity of the grassroots medical team.
Behind these impressive numbers are the persistent efforts of the Center's leadership and medical staff. Doctor Tran Trung Thanh - Director of Luc Yen Regional Medical Center affirmed: Identifying administrative reform, applying information technology, and improving medical examination and treatment processes as key tasks, in recent times, we have promoted innovation in service style, taking patient satisfaction as a measure. Digital transformation not only helps reduce procedures and save management costs, but also enhances the professionalism of medical staff.

With that clear orientation, in the coming time, Luc Yen Regional Medical Center sets the goal: 100% of communes deploy software to manage medical stations, interconnected health insurance examination and treatment data; 96% of the population has electronic health records; 100% of electronic prescriptions are connected to the national system; over 50% of hospital fees are paid without cash. At the same time, continue to expand the pilot electronic health book on the VNeID application, increase online consultation with upper-level hospitals to apply new techniques to treatment.
Digital transformation has been helping Luc Yen Regional Medical Center reduce administrative procedures, shorten waiting times, and improve professional quality and patient satisfaction. Each technological step forward is a humane step forward - bringing people in the highlands closer to modern, equal and quality medical services.
