The Ba Chúc Memorial Site has long been known as a "red address," a powerful indictment of war crimes. It also preserves the tragic memories of the people of Ba Chúc commune during the Pol Pot massacre. Every year, the site welcomes thousands of visitors from all over, researchers, and especially young people who come to visit and learn about its history.
According to Comrade Nhân, Secretary of the Ba Chúc Commune Youth Union, in implementing the policy of digital transformation associated with the preservation and promotion of the value of historical relics, the Central Youth Union has supported the digitization project of the Ba Chúc Mausoleum historical site. The core of this youth project is a smart digitization system directly integrated through QR codes placed at many convenient locations within the Ba Chúc Mausoleum historical site.
Accordingly, the QR code system makes it easy for locals and tourists to access and search for information about the history, artifacts, documentary images, and historical stories associated with the Ba Chuc Mausoleum using their smartphones. With just a few simple steps, viewers can access a rich and vivid source of official information. Mr. Le Hoang Vinh, a resident of Long Xuyen ward, shared after visiting the Ba Chuc Mausoleum: “Before, I only visited the grounds and the mausoleum itself. To find documents and images, I had to search on many different sources, which took a lot of time. Now, by simply scanning the QR code, I can easily access information, images, and historical documents quickly and conveniently. The local authorities provide official information, so I feel more secure.”
Along with the installation of the QR code system, the project also includes the installation of 10 free Wi-Fi hotspots, facilitating internet access and digital data access for residents and tourists. This is a practical solution to enhance the experience of visiting, learning, and researching at this historically significant site. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, a resident of An Chau commune, said: “The stable internet speed makes viewing high-quality images, videos , and information related to the site convenient, providing a truly modern and professional experience for visiting, learning, and researching at this historically valuable location.”
The project not only contributes to promoting the application of digital technology in the preservation and promotion of historical relics but also enhances the effectiveness of propaganda and education on patriotic traditions and revolutionary spirit for the younger generation. At the same time, it is also an important step in promoting the image and historical value of the Ba Chúc Mausoleum to a wide range of tourists from within and outside the locality. Ms. Luu Thi My Linh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Chúc commune, said: “The project contributes to the effective implementation of the digital transformation policy, while promoting the historical and cultural values of the locality. We hope that people and tourists will effectively utilize the invested facilities, contributing to spreading historical values, educating patriotic traditions, and raising awareness of digital transformation in the community.”
