This year’s Singles’ Day (November 11) was bustling not only on e-commerce platforms but also at fashion stores and shopping malls. Many people hunted for deals from midnight, while many offline stores also attracted customers with a series of big promotions.

According to many business people, in recent years Singles' Day is no longer a program "following" China but has become a real stimulus season in Vietnam.

This is considered the opening event for the year-end sale (fall - winter), and is also an opportunity to "test" customer reactions to help sellers make adjustments for major year-end programs.

Race to hunt for online deals, livestream "sold out"

According to Tuoi Tre, from the early morning of November 11, on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada... many livestream sessions of famous KOLs took place simultaneously with a 30% voucher.

Similarly, HLQ (27 years old) said she continuously scrolled through her phone and watched livestreams to find the deepest discount codes. "At the end of the year, many cosmetic companies will launch limited edition collections that are inherently more profitable than individual products, but if you watch for sales, the prices will be even cheaper," said Ms. Q.

A KOL who specializes in selling cosmetics sold out within the first few minutes of going live. Many products were reported as "out of vouchers" as soon as they appeared, forcing viewers to continuously watch to click to buy even though the KOL had previously announced that the live session would have "thousands of different vouchers".

On e-commerce platforms, the best-selling product groups include cosmetics, handbags, phone accessories and small household appliances such as mini blenders, rechargeable fans, food containers...

Products priced between 100,000 and 350,000 VND have the highest consumption thanks to continuous vouchers. Cosmetics, especially deeply discounted products, attract a lot of attention from customers.

Despite the "deal hunting" race, many users are still wary of fake promotions. TNA (27 years old) said he had been eyeing an air fryer for 2 weeks, waiting for the sale on November 11 to buy it.

"However, instead of the previous price of 1.3 million, the seller asked for 1.4 million but reduced it to 1.2 million, so the actual reduction was not much," said Ms. A.

Offline stores are equally bustling.

The 11-11 shopping atmosphere this year has also spread to stores. Many fashion chains such as Mango, Li-Ning, Crocs... simultaneously hung signs "11.11 sale 11%" or super end-of-season sales... Not only promotions, many brands also organized special events to "celebrate" 11-11.

The famous Korean cake brand Pepero has created an impressive display area at Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi with a modern, colorful and Korean-style design. Visitors can take photos, experience the products and receive many unique gifts on "Pepero Day 11.11".

In particular, the image of the famous band Stray Kids - Pepero's global ambassador - was vividly recreated in the photobooth area, giving K-pop fans the opportunity to "meet their idols" in the most special way.

Meanwhile, the WinMart/WinMart+ supermarket and store system nationwide is implementing a series of programs "Gratitude Festival, Family Taste" with hundreds of essential products from reputable brands discounted up to 50%, buy 1 get 1 free, buy 2 get 1 free such as MEATDeli meat, VINABEEF ground beef, Envy New Zealand apples, Nam Ngu fish sauce...

Lotte Mart supermarket chain has launched many promotional programs, with discounts of up to 50% on many items, especially focusing on essential products such as cooking oil, milk, household appliances... Many other units such as MM Mega Market, BigC... said that after the promotions and discounts for the occasion of November 11, they will enter the peak shopping season at the end of the year with a series of shopping stimulus programs.

Many retailers affirmed that despite being under great pressure from input prices and rising exchange rates, they will try to work with suppliers to stabilize prices within their capacity, in which prices of essential goods and goods participating in the city's market stabilization program will be given priority to remain stable before, during and after the Lunar New Year.

According to the records, a prominent trend this year is that consumers combine two online and offline channels to shop. Many fashion and electronics chains apply the form of "buy online - receive at the store" with the reason that customers want to be sure of the quality but still want to use the platform's strong discount code.

"Online and offline shopping channels often complement each other. Customers know how to go to the store to experience it, and go to the store to compare prices to find the best deal," said a representative of a clothing store.

Deep promotion race

Considered the opening event for the year-end sale (fall - winter), this year's Singles' Day witnessed a race of discounts and deep promotions from e-commerce platforms and online retail systems.

For example, Lazada launched the 11-11 sale season with a series of attractive promotions: vouchers up to 15% off, subsidies of 11 million, and thousands of flash deals with the same price of 11,000 VND every day. Shopee launched Voucher Xtra with a 20% discount of up to 11 million VND for orders from 20 million VND, applicable to products labeled Voucher Xtra.

FPT Shop system targets office workers and civil servants to relieve stress - hunt for sales - recharge to break through in the year-end KPI season. Many hot technology products, electronic devices and accessories are discounted up to 50%.

Meanwhile, Dien May Xanh offers discounts up to 30% on many phones, laptops, electronics, and refrigeration products; up to 50% off many household items, accessories, and watches.

Mobile World launched a buy 1 get 1 free promotion with many valuable gifts, applied to a series of genuine technology and household products. 24hStore launched a program to upgrade to iPhone 16 Pro Max from iPhone 15 Series, receive AirPods 4 or vouchers up to 2.5 million VND...

Many large-scale stimulus programs

In a recent interview with Tuoi Tre, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said that the good growth rate in recent times has been driven by many activities, including the strong promotional and discount programs that large businesses and retailers are actively implementing.

To achieve the double-digit growth target in 2025, the industry and trade sector said that from now until the end of the year, the city will continue to implement many large-scale stimulus programs, notably a concentrated promotion program with the participation of more than 6,000 traders.

It is planned to organize a Supply - Demand Connection Week from December 19 to 21 in Vung Tau area and a Bird's Nest Festival from December 12 to 14 to attract tourists and promote products.
