The movement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is widespread in every country and every sector worldwide. Vietnam, with its enormous potential in renewable energy, is strongly emerging as a green economy with a significant influence in the dynamic Southeast Asian region.

A "green" corner at Solarcom

In 2023, despite still facing many negative impacts from the post-pandemic period, as well as geopolitical fluctuations, thanks to the government's determination, the efforts of localities, people, and businesses, the focused investment of foreign corporations, and the support of major global financial institutions, Vietnam officially ranked among the world's top 10 in clean energy production and consumption. The young renewable energy industry – with solar power accounting for the largest share – achieved a significant international milestone and, more importantly, provided many solutions contributing to a vibrant, youthful, and clean green landscape for the Vietnamese economy. This also served as a solid foundation for the government to sign the COP.26 commitment – a strong determination to achieve Net-Zero by 2050.

A lush, fresh landscape – a pristine ecological environment.

Returning to Solarcom's Phong Phu Solar Power Plant in early 2024, the first impression was the lush, fresh scenery – an ecological environment befitting a typical industrial production facility representing the energy transition – a green transition. The plant's water reservoir – originally invested in to store freshwater in a perpetually arid area – has now become a verdant space, with a bustling fish pond, fragrant lotus pond, and orchards laden with fruit. Ducks frolic in the water below. Nests of pigeons, swallows, doves, and bitterns are hidden among the trees and towers. Beneath the solar panels and on the sandy pathways, grasses watered by the solar panel washing water year-round have almost completely covered the white sand, creating a carpet of vegetation reminiscent of tropical grasslands. Here and there, flocks of sand lizards, a few cobras, and pairs of wild chickens craned their necks, listening intently and ready to hide beneath the solar panel foundations. Even more striking, across the vast 50-hectare solar field, flocks of pure white egrets fluttered about, sometimes soaring gracefully, sometimes frantically flapping their wings to escape the viewfinders of the environmental workers' cell phones.

Solarcom is building an image for itself as a young, dynamic "green manufacturing" company.

It's no surprise that Phong Phu Solar Power has consistently been a leading solar power plant in Binh Thuan province in terms of efficiency, reliability, and safety. In 2023, the Director of Solarcom received the "Outstanding ASEAN Leader" award from the ASEAN Business Association.

Solarcom is building a realistic image and the stature of a young, dynamic "Green Manufacturing" enterprise, ready to become a spearhead in the green transformation effort with the goal of Net-Zero 2050.
