Vietnamese start-up honored as a global innovation leader in IoT security.

VinCSS, a Vietnamese technology start-up, has been honored by Frost & Sullivan as a leader in breakthrough innovation in the global IoT security field in 2024.

Sharing his thoughts on why Vietnamese startups were honored, Vu Anh Tien, a global cybersecurity researcher at Frost & Sullivan, said: “IoT (Internet of Things) security is a large field, and many companies are providing solutions and services related to this area.

But we chose VinCSS for this special award because of its unique approach to using FDO technology.”

FDO (FIDO Device Onboarding) is an open industrial security standard released in 2021 by the FIDO Alliance, a global online authentication alliance, to help make the deployment, setup, and connection of IoT devices more automated, faster, secure, and efficient.

Vietnamese start-ups have chosen to apply this standard to their diverse ecosystem of solutions to address security challenges for typical IoT devices.

For example, VinCSS has collaborated with many units to develop and manufacture integrated FDO products and solutions such as: the world's first FDO-integrated camera, smart parking sensor solutions, and the world's first FDO-integrated Wi-Fi router…

In September 2024, VinCSS became the first company in the world to possess FDO certification and the only company to hold three FDO certifications to date.

Frost & Sullivan commented: “While many organizations are still exploring the potential of FDO, VinCSS has taken decisive steps to apply this technology in practice, becoming one of the first companies to commercialize FDO-certified products and services.”
