Following two days of heavy rain on November 18-19, many communes and wards in the eastern part of Gia Lai province (formerly Binh Dinh province) were severely flooded. After the water receded, residents received assistance from the army, police, youth union members, and other forces to overcome the consequences of the flooding.

Nguyen Khuyen Primary School (Quy Nhon Bac Ward - formerly part of Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province) was completely covered in mud from the schoolyard to the classrooms. On the afternoon of November 21, more than 100 officers and soldiers from Regiment 1, Division 2 (stationed in An Khe, Gia Lai) arrived to urgently help the school overcome the consequences of the flood and welcome students back as soon as possible.

Soldier Le Xuan Tin (from Phu Yen province) shared: "My hometown is in Phu Yen (now part of Dak Lak province ), and my house is also flooded up to the roof, forcing my family to evacuate. Although I'm very worried, being able to join hands with the school and the people of Quy Nhon to overcome the consequences of the floods makes me feel very warm and like I'm helping my own hometown people."

After the floodwaters receded, the entire grounds of Nguyen Khuyen Primary School were covered in mud and debris carried by the flood. Upon arrival, soldiers from Regiment 1, in coordination with the school's teachers and the fire department, promptly cleaned up the school grounds. Thick layers of mud were collected by the soldiers, restoring the school's surface to a clean state.
