The University of Child Development Sciences will conduct interdisciplinary research on children, including: physiology, nutrition, developmental psychology, child education and care, intervention and educational therapy for children with special needs…
Its function is to advise and support parents in early childhood education and childcare for children aged 0-6 years, in the family, community, and educational institutions.
The school will train teachers and experts in early childhood education, special education, support staff for children with special needs, family education experts, and early childhood development policy experts.

The University of Educational Sciences will be a key national center for training, research, and knowledge transfer in educational science.
The school will train lecturers and researchers in the following disciplines of educational science: pedagogy, educational measurement and evaluation, general education, higher education, education and community development, education and communication, educational management, educational technology, adult education and continuing education, educational psychology, school psychology, and educational policy.
The school also functions as an educational counseling service for parents, provides advice on organizing and improving the quality of education for educational institutions, and implements community education programs.
The University of Mathematics and Information Technology will be a leading training and research center approaching international standards in the fields of mathematics and information technology, contributing to the development of science and education in Vietnam in the digital age.
This is also a center for fundamental and applied research in the fields of mathematics, applied mathematics, and information technology, developing interdisciplinary and modern research directions such as artificial intelligence (AI), data science, big data analytics and mathematical modeling, and the application of artificial intelligence and data science in education.
The new policy stance also aims to concretize the implementation of the Prime Minister's decision on approving the planning of the network of higher education and teacher training institutions for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Currently, there are 11 universities nationwide, including: Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; Thai Nguyen University; Hue University; Da Nang University; Hanoi University of Technology; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; National Economics University; Can Tho University; Duy Tan University; and Phenikaa University.
According to the Draft Plan for the Network of Higher Education and Teacher Training Institutions for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (excluding schools under the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and teacher training colleges) of the Ministry of Education and Training, it is projected that by 2030, the whole country will have approximately 250 higher education institutions and 50 branches belonging to 200 leading higher education institutions, with a distribution orientation according to regions.
These include approximately 30 key national higher education institutions, comprising 5 national universities; 5 regional universities; and 18 to 20 key national-level institutions specializing in specific fields.
By 2030, Hue University, Da Nang University, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology are expected to become national universities.
