When facing Myanmar (on April 17th), given the nature of the first match and the pressure to achieve results, the Vietnamese futsal team players were somewhat tense. Therefore, their final touches lacked composure and calmness, failing to convert opportunities into goals. Many shots were inaccurate, and their ability to capitalize on chances was also lacking. However, in the second match against China (yesterday afternoon, April 19th), these aspects were significantly improved by Coach Diego Giustozzi's players.

Immediately after the disappointing opening match against Myanmar (a 1-1 draw), Coach Giustozzi recognized the problem. The Argentinian coach stated: "The players need to relax mentally and enjoy the game. Then, they will be able to perform at their best." As a South American known for his free-flowing and spontaneous style of football, Coach Giustozzi always encourages his players to play to their strengths and freely showcase their abilities. This psychological approach was certainly applied by Coach Giustozzi and his coaching staff to the Vietnamese futsal team. The results were evident in the team's relatively positive performance against China.

In particular, the return of confidence made the Vietnamese players' movements more fluid. Each individual dared to take the ball, execute skillful maneuvers, and create spontaneous combinations. This was also the factor that helped the Vietnamese futsal team create a turning point in the match. The confident style of play from Coach Giustozzi's team forced their opponents to commit numerous fouls, leading to a direct free kick from 10 meters. Instead of a powerful shot from the 10-meter mark, Nhan Gia Hung cushioned the ball just wide of the post to beat the opposing goalkeeper. This free kick itself partly reflected the confidence of the Vietnamese players when facing the Chinese team.

The Vietnamese futsal team has improved in many aspects, especially in terms of mentality. However, it cannot be denied that Coach Giustozzi's team still has much to improve. The fact that the Vietnamese futsal team won against the weaker Chinese team with only one goal from a 10-meter penalty kick highlights the issue. It's the same old story: the finishing ability and capitalizing on opportunities need to be sharper. "It's true that we have problems with finishing. The results could have been better in the last two matches if we had done better in the final stages. We defended well. In attack, we created many opportunities, but we need to be calmer in our decisive passes and shots. I think this is normal when you're playing in a World Cup qualifying tournament with a lot of pressure, but I hope the whole team will be calmer and finish better in the next match," Coach Diego Giustozzi expressed.
Despite some shortcomings, the Vietnamese futsal team ultimately achieved their goal of winning against China. These first three points are crucial, rekindling hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals for Coach Giustozzi's team. In their final match of Group A, the Vietnamese futsal team will face host nation Thailand at 6 PM on April 21st.
