Amidst the changing seasons, as spring ushers in a new cycle of nature, the nation also enters a new phase of development with higher demands, expectations, and standards. Following the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the strategic vision for the nation's path forward has been clearly defined, with the aspiration to build a Vietnam that is "strategically independent, self-reliant, confident, and progressing strongly in the new era."

In the new development trajectory of the country following the 14th National Congress of the Party, foreign affairs work faces increasingly comprehensive and complex demands, requiring a harmonious combination of political acumen, knowledge, skills, and the ability to adapt flexibly to the changing global situation.

Within this overall picture, Vietnamese youth, from officials directly involved in foreign affairs work, well-trained students, to young Vietnamese intellectuals abroad, are gradually asserting their role as an important driving force, contributing to expanding the space for connection, spreading the image, and strengthening the country's foreign relations capabilities in the new development phase.

Turn love into practical action.

For young officials directly involved in foreign affairs, responsibility extends beyond simply performing their professional duties; it also includes proactively thinking, connecting, and creating sustainable values ​​for the country in the long term.

Drawing from her practical experience working with the Vietnamese community abroad, Ms. Nguyen Song Bao Anh, a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, shared many reflections as a young official on the new demands of the sector.

Through participating in programs connecting young overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, supporting and listening to the thoughts, aspirations, and initiatives of Vietnamese students studying abroad and Vietnamese student associations in many countries, Bao Anh noticed a clear commonality: regardless of their different learning and working environments, the feelings towards their homeland and the desire to contribute to the country remain ever-present in young overseas Vietnamese. The important thing is how to transform these feelings into concrete, practical, and sustainable actions.

Based on this reality, building genuine "bridges" connecting young overseas Vietnamese with domestic agencies and organizations is seen not only as an immediate task but also as a strategic investment for the country's future in the context of deep integration.

In light of the major goals set forth by the 14th National Congress, particularly the requirement to maintain a peaceful and stable environment and enhance strategic autonomy, young diplomatic officials are placed in a position of both implementers and innovators. This demands that each individual continuously cultivate political acumen, uphold ideals, and steadfastly pursue an independent, self-reliant, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy; while also daring to think, act, and take on new and challenging tasks, aiming for the ideal of a diplomatic official who is both politically sound and professionally competent, sensitive to current events, insightful in strategy, and refined in conduct.

In the context where science, technology, and innovation are identified as the central drivers of development, expectations for models that connect and nurture young intellectuals abroad, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation, are becoming increasingly clear. Creating conditions for this workforce to collaborate with domestic agencies not only contributes to supplementing high-quality human resources but also strengthens the connection between young global intellectuals and Vietnam's development process.

Contributing to spreading the image of Vietnam.

The sense of responsibility towards the new opportunities facing the country is not only fostered among the working staff, but also in the classrooms, where the next generations for the diplomatic sector are trained.

In the context of the country entering a new stage of development after the 14th National Congress, the role of students, including those of the Diplomatic Academy, is increasingly recognized. With a foundation of in-depth knowledge and a training environment closely linked to practical foreign affairs, each student is expected to not only excel in their field but also possess strong character, independent thinking, and a high sense of responsibility towards common issues facing the country and the world.

Sharing her thoughts, Pham Quynh Huong, a fourth-year student majoring in English Language and International Law, believes that the current period is not only a new stage of development for the country, but also a time when Vietnam needs people with knowledge, courage, and the ability to integrate to accompany the nation on its path forward.

According to Quynh Huong, the primary responsibility of each student is to continuously learn, improve their knowledge and skills, and thereby find ways to contribute appropriately to their field of expertise. Regardless of their future position, each student can become an "ambassador" spreading the image of a peaceful, humane Vietnam that respects international law and is ready to participate in resolving common issues of the international community.

With a commitment to continuing her research and applying international legal knowledge to Vietnam's foreign policy, the student from the Diplomatic Academy believes that academic goals, debate forums, legal trials, and international conferences are not just personal playgrounds, but also a long-term preparation process for the younger generation to gradually meet the increasingly high demands of modern diplomacy.

A key emphasis in the development thinking established by the 14th National Congress is that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation must become the central driving force. In this context, the role of young Vietnamese intellectuals abroad is increasingly recognized as a strategic resource, capable of contributing directly and indirectly to the country's development.

Based on his practical experience working in the technology sector in France, Nguyen Viet Anh, currently a manager at Homa Games - a top 2 game company in France - believes that the knowledge, experience, and international networks of young Vietnamese people abroad can absolutely become an "extended arm" of Vietnamese diplomacy in the digital age.

According to him, Vietnam has the potential to build specialized digital platforms to promote tourism and culture, similar to modern application models currently being implemented. Vietnamese technology experts abroad, with their advantage of understanding the market and global trends, can play a role in advising, connecting, and disseminating these products to the world.

Beyond simply promoting the image of Vietnam, connecting high-quality human resources, bringing Vietnamese intellectual products closer to international corporations, or creating opportunities for domestic personnel to work remotely for global businesses, all open up new possibilities for integration and development.

From the perspective of a young intellectual, the need to build information bridges and connection points between Vietnamese people working abroad and domestic businesses and agencies is considered essential to overcome the situation of "having capabilities but lacking connection channels." At the same time, disseminating knowledge about technology and artificial intelligence through sharing forums and appropriate support mechanisms is seen as a foundation for creating real breakthroughs.

Dare to think, dare to act, dare to take responsibility.

The atmosphere of exhilaration following the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is spreading strongly among young Vietnamese people around the world. From Europe to Asia, from classrooms to businesses, the spirit of "rising forward" with the nation is being expressed through mature thinking and a desire to make long-term contributions.

From Italy, Nguyen Xuan Hau, an Engineering Science student at Tor Vergata University of Rome, expressed his pride in Vietnam's growing potential, strength, and international standing. For Hau, the strategic directions set forth by the 14th National Congress, especially the determination to successfully achieve the two centenary strategic goals, are not only the vision of the Party and State, but also a call to action for the younger generation of intellectuals.

Exemplary conduct, proactive creativity, the courage to think, act, and take responsibility are recognized as essential requirements for young Vietnamese intellectuals abroad. The Political Report of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam's identification of "promoting the attraction and utilization of talent as a strategic breakthrough" opens up expectations for flexible mechanisms that allow young intellectuals to contribute to the country without necessarily being limited by geographical location.

Furthermore, proposals to prioritize resources for "AI for science" models, or to establish international expert advisory groups of young professionals to participate in policy critique and feedback from the initial stages of ideation, reflect a desire to genuinely and responsibly contribute to the country's development process.

In the face of new opportunities, the younger generation is becoming a crucial force contributing to the realization of Vietnam's independent, self-reliant, self-strengthening, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy. From practical work and training to connecting young intellectuals globally, today's youth are increasingly enriching the internal strength and implementation methods of Vietnamese diplomacy.
