According to IFLScience, Startup company Invisibility Shield (UK) has just launched the second generation invisibility shield model after the success of the first generation. The newly introduced shield model has a larger design and the ability to cover objects deeper.
Inspired by invisibility cloaks in science fiction movies and fairy tales, Invisibility Shield took 4 years of research to produce the first generation of invisibility shields in 2022.
These shields require no external power source or magic to function, are waterproof, and are made from 100% recycled materials. They use a special type of lens, designed to be curved to deflect light precisely, making people or objects behind it invisible.
For the 2nd generation invisibility shield, Invisibility Shield made many changes to the shape and density of the lens to improve resolution, making the shield perform better with the curved version.
The company also adjusted the layered structure of the shields to make them more visible than the previous version.
Invisibility Shield's 2nd generation invisibility shield is now available for pre-order on Kickstarter and the company is also raising more capital for the project. Through Kickstarter, Invisibility Shield has sold thousands of first-generation invisibility shields.
Invisibility Shield also launched three different sizes of the invisibility shield, including a small size 20cm high, a large size 91cm high, and a super large size 182cm high. Regardless of size, the shields are designed to be folded down to only 1/30 of their original size, convenient to carry anywhere.
Pre-order prices are 68 USD, 377 USD, 883 USD respectively depending on size. The new stealth shields will be delivered by the end of 2024.
“These shields are fun and we are excited to use them. We want to see how far we can go with this technology. A truly invisible shield that you can roll up and carry on your shoulder? Two years ago, no one thought anyone could do it.”, says invisibility shield designer Tristan Thompson.
