On March 26, in an interview with VTC News , lawyer Nguyen Van Hau, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association, stated that the organization had held a meeting and decided to temporarily suspend the legal practice of Dang Thi Han Ni (born in 1977, residing in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to Mr. Hau, Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni is currently under prosecution, so the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association has temporarily suspended her legal practice. If she is convicted by the court, the competent authorities will revoke her lawyer's license and remove her name from the list of lawyers.

According to Mr. Hau, the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association had previously received information that Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni showed signs of violating Articles 17 and 18 of the 2006 Lawyers Law.
Specifically, she is both a lawyer and a journalist for a newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City. The Bar Association sent a letter to the media agency where she works and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs requesting verification of whether she is a civil servant. However, the association has not received a response from these two agencies, so there is no basis to revoke her lawyer's license.
" If the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association receives confirmation from competent authorities that Ms. Han Ni is a civil servant, we will revoke her lawyer status because she is violating the Lawyers Law ," Mr. Hau said.
Previously, on February 24th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency initiated a criminal case, indicted the suspect, and executed an arrest warrant for Dang Thi Han Ni to investigate her alleged abuse of democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals, in accordance with Article 331 of the Penal Code.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Police, the Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police had previously received and processed a complaint from Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang and her husband, Mr. Huynh Uy Dung, regarding the defendant Dang Thi Han Ni posting videos that insulted their honor and dignity. This act infringed upon the legitimate interests of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company and Hang Huu Charity Fund.
The police determined that Dang Thi Han Ni intentionally uploaded numerous videos to her YouTube channel containing unverified information. This information included personal and family secrets and private life details. The uploaded content attracted hundreds of thousands of views and comments, negatively impacting public order, causing public panic, and infringing on citizens' fundamental rights.
