A retired teacher in 2009, Ms. Hong was assigned as Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of An Hai Dong Ward (old) until 2015 as Head of the Front Work Department of Residential Area 2A. Her experience working at the Ward Party Committee helped her to filter out important contents of directives, resolutions, guidelines and policies of the Party and State to effectively and promptly disseminate to the people in the residential area. Recently, when carrying out the task of collecting public opinions on the arrangement of administrative units at the provincial and communal levels, Ms. Hong always analyzed carefully so that the people could correctly understand and support the policies of the Party and State.
She and the KDC Front Working Committee mobilized people to effectively implement Directive No. 16-CT/QU of the Standing Committee of the Son Tra District Party Committee on strengthening the management of construction order, labor safety, and urban order; effectively organized many movements: "Environmentally friendly residential area", "Garbage-free residential group", "Cultural and civilized residential group in weddings, worshiping, and funerals", "Civilized residential group without crime and social evils"; and participated in building the "green - clean - beautiful" Nguyen Thien Ke street at KDC 2A. According to Ms. Hong, to effectively mobilize people, Front officials must be exemplary, enthusiastic, capable, prestigious, and put the interests of the people first. "Mobilization must be persistent, emotional, and reasonable so that people will listen, believe, and actively respond," she shared.
KDC 2A has many small-scale businesses and lives are still difficult. Ms. Hong always keeps in mind the spirit of "the rich help the poor", not leaving anyone behind. Since then, the Front Committee has coordinated with the Red Cross Association to mobilize donors to support 3 humanitarian addresses, with a level of 500,000 VND/household/quarter. For poor and near-poor households, the KDC has proactively supported means of livelihood, creating conditions for economic development. Thanks to that, up to now, KDC 2A has no more poor or near-poor households. Every year, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, she mobilizes incumbent party members and individuals in the residential area to give about 20 gifts to disadvantaged households, each worth 300,000 VND.
Having been attached to the residential area for many years, Ms. Hong has a thorough understanding of each house and lifestyle; promptly grasped the legitimate opinions and aspirations of the people. Thanks to that, she regularly reflects the people's legitimate recommendations and proposals in meetings with voters and representatives of the City People's Council, and dialogues with district and ward leaders. Many issues are resolved promptly, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the government. According to Ms. Hong, doing Front work requires "walking, listening, seeing, speaking, and doing". With the motto "Whatever is beneficial to the people and the country, try to do it thoroughly", she is always a pioneer in activities in the residential area, especially in mobilizing contributions, always putting her name first to set an example.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Le Dinh Kim Chi Ward said that Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong is a dedicated person, wholeheartedly devoted to the residential area movement, so she is loved and trusted by the people. She always plays a good role as an important bridge between the superior Front and the people and has many practical initiatives, mobilizing people to respond well to patriotic emulation movements. In recognition of her positive contributions to the emulation movements of the ward, Ms. Hong was awarded the "For the cause of great national unity" medal by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the City Party Executive Committee awarded a certificate of merit to a party member who met the criteria of "Excellently completing tasks" for 5 consecutive years (2020-2024).
