Having retired as a teacher in 2009, Ms. Hong took on the role of Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of An Hai Dong ward (formerly) until 2015, when she became Head of the Front Committee of Residential Area 2A. Her experience working at the ward's Party Committee helped her to effectively and promptly disseminate the important contents of directives, resolutions, policies, and guidelines of the Party and State to the residents in the residential area. Recently, when carrying out the task of gathering public opinion on the rearrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units, Ms. Hong meticulously analyzed the issues to ensure that the people understood and supported the policies of the Party and State.
She, along with the Front Committee of the residential area, mobilized the people to effectively implement Directive No. 16-CT/QU of the Standing Committee of the Son Tra District Party Committee on strengthening the management of construction order, labor safety, and urban order; effectively organized many movements: "Environmentally friendly residential area," "Garbage-free residential area," "Cultural and civilized residential area in weddings, ceremonies, and funerals," "Residential area free from crime and social evils"; and participated in building the "green, clean, and beautiful" Nguyen Thien Ke street in residential area 2A. According to Ms. Hong, to effectively mobilize people, Front Committee officials must be exemplary, enthusiastic, capable, reputable, and put the interests of the people first. "Mobilization must be persistent, empathetic, and reasonable so that people will listen, believe, and actively respond," she shared.
Residential Area 2A has many households engaged in small businesses, and their lives are still fraught with difficulties. Ms. Hong always keeps in mind the spirit of "helping those in need," ensuring no one is left behind. Therefore, the Front Committee, in coordination with the Red Cross branch, mobilized benefactors to support three humanitarian causes, providing 500,000 VND per household per quarter. For poor and near-poor households, the residential area proactively provides livelihood support and creates conditions for economic development. As a result, Residential Area 2A now has no poor or near-poor households. Every year, during the Lunar New Year, she mobilizes incumbent Party members and individuals in the residential area to donate approximately 20 gift packages to needy households, each worth 300,000 VND.
Having been closely involved with the local community for many years, Ms. Hong is intimately familiar with the houses and lifestyles of the residents; she promptly grasps their legitimate opinions and aspirations. Thanks to this, she regularly conveys the legitimate suggestions and proposals of the people during meetings with city council representatives and dialogues with district and ward leaders. Many issues have been resolved promptly, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the government. According to Ms. Hong, working for the Fatherland Front requires "walking, listening, seeing, speaking, and working." With the motto "Whatever benefits the people and the country, strive to do it thoroughly," she always takes the lead in activities in the residential area, especially in fundraising, always being the first to put her name on the list to set an example.
According to Ms. Le Dinh Kim Chi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Le Dinh Ward, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong is a dedicated and wholeheartedly committed individual who has earned the love and trust of the people. She consistently fulfills her role as an important bridge between the higher-level Fatherland Front and the people, and has many practical initiatives to mobilize the people to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements. In recognition of her positive contributions to the ward's emulation movements, Ms. Hong was awarded the "For the Cause of National Unity" commemorative medal by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and a certificate of merit by the City Party Committee for achieving the "Outstanding Performance" standard for five consecutive years (2020-2024).
