Gold prices this afternoon, January 10, 2025: World gold prices have risen for three consecutive sessions, approaching the $2,700/ounce mark. Meanwhile, domestic gold prices remained unchanged.

At the time of the survey at 13:00 on January 10, 2025, the gold prices on the exchanges of several companies were listed as follows:
The SJC gold price, as listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), remains unchanged at 84.5 million VND/ounce for buying and 86.0 million VND/ounce for selling. The difference between the buying and selling price is 1.5 million VND.
Today, DOJI lists the price of 9999 gold at 84.5 million VND/ounce for buying and 86.0 million VND/ounce for selling, unchanged from yesterday. The difference between the buying and selling price is 1.5 million VND.
Meanwhile, at Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of SJC gold listed at the time of the survey was 85.4-86.0 million VND/ounce for buying and selling respectively.
The price of SJC gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau and Bao Tin Manh Hai companies is also being traded at 84.6-86.0 million VND/ounce for buying and selling, unchanged in both directions compared to yesterday.
The group of state-owned commercial banks (Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Agribank , BIDV) listed the price of SJC gold bars at 86 million VND/ounce.

Following the upward trend of SJC gold prices, the price of gold rings also surged compared to the same time yesterday morning.
Currently, Bao Tin Minh Chau lists the selling price of gold rings at the highest level of 86.2 million VND/ounce, while the buying price is 84.9 million VND/ounce.
Phu Nhuan Gold Company also adjusted its gold prices upwards by 300,000 - 500,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling, currently listing them at 84.8 - 86 million VND/ounce.
Mi Hong Gold System also adjusted the price of gold up to 85.1-85.9 million VND/ounce, an increase of 400,000 VND per ounce in both buying and selling prices.

The spot price of gold in the global market recorded an impressive increase for three consecutive sessions, rising from its lowest point on Monday at $2,624 per ounce to nearly $2,680 per ounce early this morning (January 10). This is also the highest price gold has reached since mid-December last year.
Currently, the spot price of gold in the global market has stabilized, hovering above $2,670 per ounce. Notably, the price of gold is rising despite the strengthening US dollar, which is currently pegged above 109 points.
The US non-farm payroll data for December 2024 is expected to show slower but still healthy job growth.
CNBC, citing economists' forecasts, predicts that the non-farm payrolls report – a key overview of the US job market – which the US Bureau of Labor Statistics is expected to release on the morning of January 10th (US time), will show an increase of 155,000 jobs in December 2024, lower than the surprising increase of 227,000 in November but still comparable to the average of the past four months. The US unemployment rate is projected to remain unchanged at 4.2%.
Officials at the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) have signaled that they may keep interest rates at their current level for an extended period and will only cut them further when inflation truly cools down. Lower interest rates tend to be beneficial for the gold market.
Gold was one of the strongest-performing commodities in 2024, with a 27% price increase and consecutive record highs as the Fed cut interest rates, central banks increased their holdings, and investors sought a safe haven from geopolitical tensions.
With Donald Trump set to be inaugurated for a second term as US President on January 20th, investors are also considering the possibility of a potential trade war or other tensions that could disrupt markets and fuel demand for safe-haven assets.
