People received a warm welcome when they came to the capital to visit President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum.
In the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), from early morning on April 30, thousands of people lined up in an orderly manner to visit the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh .
To facilitate visits to President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum for people from all over the country during this holiday, from the morning of April 30th, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Command of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, implemented a program to provide drinking water, milk, and bread for local people and tourists.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, during major holidays, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum area welcomes tens of thousands of Vietnamese people and domestic and international tourists who come to pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh. Simple offerings like bottles of cool water, cartons of milk, or loaves of bread become practical support and symbolize the spirit of sharing and hospitality of the people of Hanoi.
Specifically during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, the organizing committee will distribute a total of 45,000 gift packages, each containing milk and bread or a drink. This year, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will coordinate with the Command of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to implement a program to provide drinking water, milk, and bread to people and tourists during the commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19th) and National Day (September 2nd). These are times when there are large numbers of visitors, requiring thorough and timely service preparation.
To ensure the program's effective implementation, the Hanoi Department of Tourism clearly assigned responsibilities to its subordinate units and closely coordinated with the Command of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in arranging locations, organizing the reception, and distributing gifts. This coordinated effort helped ensure that gifts were delivered directly to residents and tourists in a timely manner, in a solemn yet warm and humane atmosphere.
In the context of the capital's tourism sector showing many positive growth signs, humanitarian activities like this program are all the more meaningful.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in April 2026, the total number of tourists visiting Hanoi is estimated to reach 3.09 million, an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period last year; total revenue from tourism is expected to reach approximately 12.65 trillion VND.
In the first four months of the year, Hanoi welcomed approximately 12.14 million visitors, an increase of 20.9%, including 3.29 million international visitors.
These small gifts from the Hanoi tourism industry to the people and tourists on this occasion contribute positively to building the image of Hanoi as "Safe - Friendly - High Quality - Attractive".
