Accordingly, over 4,000 primary and secondary school students received dental check-ups, consultations, and had their oral health status recorded. The results showed that over 2,000 students had cavities, accounting for more than 50%. This is an alarming figure, reflecting the fact that oral health problems among schoolchildren remain widespread and require timely intervention.
According to doctors , tooth decay not only causes pain and discomfort but also directly affects students' ability to eat, physical development, and academic performance. Furthermore, if left untreated, it can lead to complications such as pulpitis and infections, with long-term health consequences. Given this situation, the Cai Doi Vam Commune Health Station advises parents to pay more attention to their children's oral health through practical measures such as: teaching children to brush their teeth correctly at least twice a day , using toothpaste containing fluoride , and limiting the consumption of sweets and sugary drinks . At the same time , children should have regular dental checkups every six months to detect and treat oral diseases early.
In the coming period, the Cai Doi Vam Commune Health Station will continue to promote communication and education on oral health in schools . This will contribute to raising awareness, changing behaviors, and protecting healthy smiles for the younger generation.
