Recently, the City's Food Safety Management Board, in coordination with the Hoa Cuong Ward Police, conducted inspections and monitoring of several food production and business establishments serving the Mid-Autumn Festival in the area. During the inspection, authorities discovered several mooncake products with foreign language labels but lacking the required Vietnamese supplementary labels.
To protect consumer health, authorities in the city are implementing various measures to strengthen inspection and supervision, while also promoting public awareness campaigns to encourage people to proactively choose safe products.
On August 29th, the City's Food Safety Management Board issued Plan No. 887 to implement a food safety inspection campaign for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025. Accordingly, from September 8th to October 8th, functional forces will simultaneously conduct inspections in all communes and wards throughout the city.
Simultaneously, in coordination with the City Police, the Market Management Department conducted inspections of food production and business establishments, closely monitoring the prevention of smuggling and commercial fraud. In addition, the People's Committees of communes and wards established inter-agency inspection teams, focusing on mooncake businesses, grocery stores, and food shops to promptly detect and handle violations.

According to the City's Food Safety Management Board, after only two weeks of implementation, the inspection team has inspected 22 establishments in areas such as Hai Chau and Hoa Cuong wards, Hoa Tien and Hoa Vang communes, and Ba Na commune. Initial results show that most production and business establishments strictly comply with regulations on hygiene conditions, equipment, origin of raw materials and additives, and product declaration documents.
However, some violations still exist, such as trading imported products without Vietnamese supplementary labels or product labels lacking information about the production facility and address.
In addition to checking the actual conditions, the inspection team randomly collected 10 mooncake samples for testing for safety indicators. If the results are unsatisfactory, the Food Safety Management Board will proceed to trace and recall all violating products and issue a widespread warning so that consumers are aware in a timely manner.
The city's Market Management Department is intensifying market inspections and controls before, during, and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, focusing on preventing smuggled food, counterfeit goods, and substandard products. Key items targeted include mooncakes, confectionery, soft drinks, and children's toys.
In addition, comprehensive efforts are being made to disseminate information and guide production and business establishments in complying with regulations on food safety, labeling, and product quality. Violations will be strictly and publicly dealt with to deter future offenses and ensure a transparent business environment.
