Strengthening the responsibility of the Chairman of the People's Committee in receiving citizens

In recent times, the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations in Quang Dien district (Thua Thien Hue province) has always received attention. Through regular citizen reception sessions by the District People's Committee and agencies and units in the district, 428 visits were received from 434 citizens. The main issues raised by citizens concerned requests and feedback related to land, infrastructure investment, environmental sanitation, social policies, etc.

In 2022 and 2023, the District People's Committee and relevant agencies and units received 465 petitions. The content of these petitions, complaints, denunciations, suggestions, and feedback mainly concerned land management, infrastructure investment, and social policies. All petitions were addressed by competent authorities through written responses and decisions in accordance with the law. Notably, inspections and reviews in Quang Dien district revealed no complex, unresolved, or long-standing cases of complaints or denunciations.

In implementing the monitoring recommendations of the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee, the Chairman of the Quang Dien District People's Committee has regularly maintained a cooperative relationship with the Standing Committee of the District People's Council and the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee in accordance with Regulation 02 on the working relationship and activities between the District People's Council, the District People's Committee and the District Fatherland Front Committee.

Annual review conferences are held to assess the situation and results of coordinated activities. The recommendations from the District Fatherland Front Committee are acknowledged and accepted by the District People's Committee; and relevant specialized agencies and units are directed to implement them in accordance with the coordination regulations and the law.

Concluding the working session, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, acknowledged the achievements and attention of the Quang Dien District People's Committee and relevant units in receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations. She particularly praised the close guidance of the Party Committee and the attention of the Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee in directing all levels of government to strictly implement regulations on receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations.

Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh requested that Party committees continue to lead and direct efforts to raise awareness and strengthen the responsibility of chairmen of People's Committees at all levels and heads of specialized agencies in receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations; and to promote the dissemination and education of laws on receiving citizens, complaints, and denunciations in localities. She also urged greater attention to archiving, the increased application of information technology in managing complaint and denunciation files, and the strengthening of coordination with agencies, units, the Fatherland Front, and other mass organizations in the locality.

In addition, Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh also suggested that the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province continue to pay attention to the selection of officials, strengthen training and skill development for officials, and propose appropriate mechanisms and policies to motivate officials to perform this task.

Regarding the opinions and suggestions of the Quang Dien District People's Committee and other agencies and units at the working session, Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh stated that the Supervisory Delegation will compile them and make specific recommendations to the relevant central agencies and ministries.
