Efforts should be made to accomplish tasks right from the beginning of the year in order to achieve breakthroughs in 2024, especially in socio-economic development.
Focus on the indicators that are performing poorly.
In the first months of 2024, Party committees at all levels focused on leading and directing agencies, units, and localities to promptly implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on the direction and tasks for 2024 with 18 specific targets, paying particular attention to the economic growth target (GRDP) of 8.0-8.5%.
The solution for localities is to closely coordinate with relevant agencies to focus on improving the province's unmet targets, as well as addressing the difficulties and limitations identified by the Provincial Party Committee in 2023. These include the failure to achieve the target economic growth rate; continued difficulties in the consumption and export of agricultural products; and the failure to meet the set requirements in attracting investment, compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance.
According to information from the Tan Thanh District Party Committee, in 2024, the district strives to maintain and improve the quality of new rural development (NRD) criteria in all 12 communes; maintain and improve the quality of advanced NRD criteria in 4 communes; strive to have Nhon Hoa Lap commune recognized as an advanced NRD standard commune, Tan Thanh town recognized as a civilized urban area, and complete the task of building a NRD district.

Tan Thanh District is improving and maintaining the criteria for building new rural communes and advanced new rural communes.
Currently, there are 5 ongoing projects in the district. These include: infrastructure for the Hiep Thanh Canal residential area; Road No. 3 and land development along Road No. 3 (extending from Tan Thanh town to National Highway N2, Tan Binh commune - a key project of the 10th District Party Congress Resolution); upgrading and expanding the dike road along the Bui Moi Canal; renovating and upgrading the East Phung Thot embankment road; and the square in front of the District Party Committee headquarters. These projects are currently facing difficulties and obstacles related to land clearance; insufficient funding; and scarcity of materials and materials.
The leaders of Tan Thanh district held a working session with relevant units and local leaders to resolve difficulties, contributing to the project's progress, fulfilling the Resolution of the 10th District Party Congress and celebrating the 11th District Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
With strong political determination, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ben Luc district have strived to implement the District Party Committee's Resolution, achieving important and comprehensive results in many areas. This is an important prerequisite for the district to successfully achieve the targets of the District Party Committee's Resolution in 2024. Overcoming the shortcomings and limitations identified in 2023, from the beginning of the year, the district has implemented key solutions in the work of collecting state budget revenue, avoiding complacency and negligence, and strictly adhering to public service regulations.

According to Nguyen Dang Minh Xuan, Secretary of the Ben Luc District Party Committee, 2024 plays a decisive role in accelerating the successful completion of the Resolution of the 12th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025. With the perspective of putting people and businesses at the center of service, and viewing businesses as the driving force and resource for development, the district is implementing comprehensive solutions to unleash the strength of the entire population, maximize potential and advantages, and promote industrial, construction, and urban development; continuing to effectively lead the work of compensation and land clearance, especially for key projects, breakthrough programs, industrial park and cluster projects, and urban residential projects;...
"With renewed enthusiasm and determination, we are confident that the Party Committee, the government, and the people of the district will successfully fulfill the tasks set for 2024 and the entire term, leading the district to a breakthrough, becoming increasingly civilized, modern, and compassionate," affirmed Mr. Nguyen Dang Minh Xuan.
Breakthrough in task execution
In 2023, Can Giuoc district collected over 704 billion VND in revenue, exceeding 110.7% of the statutory budget estimate and 109.3% of the budget estimate assigned by the District People's Council. However, the district's balanced revenue did not meet the set target, reaching only over 425.4 billion VND, or nearly 89.4%. For 2024, the statutory budget estimate assigned by the province to Can Giuoc district is 667 billion VND; the District People's Council assigned over 682 billion VND, of which balanced revenue is approximately 490 billion VND.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Giuoc District, Nguyen Anh Duc, the district organized meetings with relevant units to hear reports on budget revenue collection and focused on discussing solutions to implement them decisively from the beginning of the year, striving to achieve and exceed the budget revenue targets set by the province and the District People's Council.
In addition, the district is focusing on resolving difficulties and obstacles for large projects in the area. The district is currently consolidating the dossier to request recognition as a New Rural Area; and launching emulation movements to achieve accomplishments in celebration of the 160th anniversary of the district's establishment (November 9, 1864 - November 9, 2024).

With a spirit of getting straight to work from the beginning of the year, the provincial leadership organized working groups to meet with key industrial districts of the province to discuss the socio-economic situation, aiming to decisively implement the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution for 2024 and "reach the finish line early" of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025.
According to the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Van Duoc, the Provincial Party Committee has identified 2024 as the year to "reach the finish line early" in implementing the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress. Therefore, the tasks are very challenging; at the same time, it opens up many opportunities and breakthroughs in the new situation. Continuing the tradition of "courage and resilience" in the resistance war, leading the way in the reform process, and now being a "bright spot" in the strong economic recovery and development, this is of great importance, creating a solid foundation to achieve the goal: "By 2025, maintain the leading position in the Mekong Delta region and strive to become a moderately developed province in the Southern key economic region by 2030."
Can Giuoc District is consolidating its documentation to apply for recognition as a district meeting the standards of a new rural area.
“The year 2024 plays a decisive role, creating momentum to accelerate efforts to successfully complete the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress. Therefore, I propose that comrades at all levels and sectors should launch a campaign to “reach the finish line” for tasks early in 2024, excellently completing tasks so that in 2025 we can do a good job organizing Party Congresses at all levels… Each Provincial Party Committee member, head of agencies, units, and localities must promote a sense of responsibility, innovate thinking and working methods, “dare to think, dare to act, dare to take responsibility for the common good, without fear, avoidance, or shirking responsibility,” and be more dynamic and creative to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation,” Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested that the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution on the direction and tasks for 2024 be thoroughly disseminated and implemented throughout the entire political system with a spirit of unity, democracy, the highest political determination, flexible, dynamic, creative, and urgent action.
Furthermore, we encourage and inspire all sectors of the population and the business community to uphold the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement, overcome all difficulties and challenges, strive to fulfill the set targets and tasks, and contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress.
