U-Boat Worx, a renowned submersible manufacturer, introduced its latest product, the Super Sub, at the Monaco Yacht Show, marking a major step forward in marine technology, Interesting Engineering reported on October 4. This submersible model combines high performance and advanced technology, suitable for underwater exploration requirements.

With its powerful propulsion system and advanced design, the Super Sub aims to revolutionize underwater exploration. The vehicle can dive at a steep angle of 30 degrees, ensuring the smoothest experience for passengers with 360-degree visibility. The fully transparent pressure-resistant shell is located at the front of the submersible, providing unobstructed visibility in all directions. The innovative design allows passengers to enjoy the panoramic view without being hindered by ballast tanks, batteries or other components.

The most notable feature of this model is its unprecedented speed of up to 18.5 km/h, 5.6 - 7.4 km/h faster than the cruising speed of bottlenose dolphins and more than 13 km/h faster than conventional submersibles. The extremely high speed provides the opportunity for thrill-seekers to glide alongside sea turtles, race with sharks and dolphins.

The Super Sub's advanced SHARC controller coordinates the hydrofoil and propulsion system to work in harmony. The hydrofoil at the rear of the submersible allows for sharp turns and maneuvers, providing unprecedented agility.

The Super Sub is equipped with many safety features such as "maximum depth protection", which prevents the sub from descending beyond its permitted depth. In case of emergency, a safety buoy marks the position of the sub on the water surface and can drop weights to increase buoyancy. In addition, the Super Sub has a minimum life support device of 96 hours.

The first Super Sub will be delivered to customers in late 2023 and available in 2024.
