Tevez scored 4 goals, but Old Trafford still booed.

Carlos Tevez scored a spectacular poker (four goals) in just 15 minutes, helping World XI come from behind to beat Great Britain's All-Stars 5-4 in the Soccer Aid 2025 match on the evening of June 15th.

Tevez returned to Old Trafford for Soccer Aid 2025 in an unexpected way: scoring four goals in just 15 minutes. But instead of applause, the former Argentinian striker was met with boos from the very fans who had once cheered him on.

Tevez, 41, is no stranger to the "Theatre of Dreams," where he played for Manchester United from 2007 to 2009, winning six titles, including two Premier League titles and one Champions League. However, his move to city rivals Manchester City in 2009 led to him being seen as a "traitor" in the eyes of the Red Devils fans.

When Tevez's name was called before he came on in the second half, the boos that erupted from the stands were the clearest evidence of the still-unforgettable memory. At that point, the Great Britain All-Stars were leading 2-0, but things turned around dramatically. Tevez scored four of the World XI's five goals – including a spectacular free-kick from 20 yards – and each goal was met with a furious backlash from the crowd.

Notably, after the fourth goal, when the World XI took a 5-4 lead thanks to a decisive goal from TV chef Big Zuu, Tevez further fueled controversy with a brutal foul, pulling down Aaron Lennon as the former England international was facing the goal. Instead of a red card, the referee simply laughed and... Lennon issued a yellow card to Tevez in a truly entertaining Soccer Aid-style atmosphere.

Tevez responded to the crowd by putting his hands to his ears and pointing to the back of his shirt as if in defiance. But that only seemed to intensify the booing.

Carlos Tevez attracted attention on his return to Old Trafford.

For the England All-Stars, Wayne Rooney opened the scoring, while Toni Duggan doubled the lead. Jermain Defoe scored a brace in the second half, but the final showdown belonged to Tevez – who has scored a total of 84 goals in 201 Premier League games and continues to demonstrate his class even at the age of 41.

Despite being a charity match, Soccer Aid this year was full of drama – and Tevez, once again, became the center of attention, true to the "villain" image that has followed him throughout his career.
