Truong Thinh Garment Co., Ltd. provides employment for 300 local workers, with an income of 5-7 million VND per month.
Recognizing the practical benefits of livestock farming for family economic development, Mr. Vu Tuan Tu, from Van Han Chung village, Thai Hung commune, boldly converted 1.58 hectares of low-lying, unproductive rice-growing land into a pig farm. Mr. Tu shared: "Thanks to the Farmers' Association of the commune facilitating visits and learning experiences from successful livestock farming models inside and outside the district, in 2018, I invested over 300 million VND to build a pilot system for raising 200 pigs. After accumulating experience, mastering techniques, and effectively managing the farming process, I expanded the scale to 1,000 pigs per batch, two batches per year, with a yield of 10-12 tons per batch. To ensure environmental hygiene, I applied a closed-loop farming model, adhering to biosafety procedures, and treating waste using a biogas system and modern waste separation machines." I partnered with Cargill in supplying breeding stock, feed, and technical support, helping to stabilize inputs and outputs and maintain production efficiency. In 2024, with stable pork prices at 67,000-68,000 VND/kg and reasonable prices for breeding stock and feed, the farm generated revenue of 8-10 billion VND per year, creating regular employment for 4-5 local workers, with an average income of about 8 million VND per person per month. Mr. Ta Ngoc Vinh, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of the commune, said: The livestock farming model of member Vu Tuan Tu is one of the effective economic examples with high ripple effects, contributing to promoting the shift in production mindset from small-scale to large-scale, commercial production. Based on practical effectiveness, the Association has incorporated the model into branch meetings to disseminate and replicate it throughout the area. Alongside the development of farm and household livestock breeding, farmer association members have also effectively utilized nearly 40 hectares of ponds and lagoons for freshwater fish farming combined with poultry farming. These diverse agricultural production models have contributed to raising the total value of production from crop cultivation, livestock farming, and aquaculture to over 77 billion VND per year.
Besides focusing on agricultural production, Thai Hung commune also promotes the development of trades and small-scale industries to create local jobs and increase the income of local workers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, from Van Han Chung village, said: "In 2020, with the commune's support in accessing 50 million VND from the job creation program, I boldly established a rattan and bamboo weaving production group. Currently, the facility provides regular employment for more than 30 local workers. On average, the production group supplies the market with about 9,000 diverse rattan and bamboo products such as rectangular boxes, food trays, shelves, containers, baskets, etc., each month, generating revenue of over 100 million VND. I am actively expanding the scale of production and hope to continue accessing preferential capital sources to upgrade machinery, expand the workshop, and contribute to attracting more unemployed workers, thereby boosting the family economy."
To develop its industry, Thai Hung commune focuses on attracting investors to the area, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses and production and trading establishments. To date, the commune has 1 enterprise and 5 garment processing facilities, providing jobs for hundreds of workers with incomes of 5-7 million VND/month. Truong Thinh Garment Co., Ltd. is a shining example of job creation and contribution to the local budget. Ms. Pham Thi Thu, representative of the company, said: The company was established in 2019, specializing in producing quilted jackets and double-layered jackets for export to South Korea. From 3 initial production lines, after 6 years of operation, the company has expanded to 5 lines, creating stable jobs for 300 workers. Each year, the company exports 25,000-30,000 products, with revenue reaching approximately 23 billion VND. Since the beginning of 2025, the company has exported 12,000 products and has signed orders until the end of the year, aiming for a 4-5% revenue growth. Ms. Le Thi Que, from Vu Thanh Dong village, has been with the company since its inception and currently holds the position of quality control team leader. She shared: "The company's working environment is clean and airy, and the benefits are comprehensive. I receive a fuel allowance of 300,000 VND/month and a seniority bonus of 500,000 VND/month. With an income of 9 million VND/month and working near home, I feel secure in staying with the company long-term."
Mr. Nguyen Manh Chien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Hung commune, said: With its central location in the southern part of the district, Thai Hung has many favorable conditions for developing industry, trade, and services. The inter-commune road system has been invested in synchronously, including the upgraded and expanded section of Highway 87 from Cau Bridge intersection to Duong Hong Thuy commune, creating favorable conditions for trade and attracting businesses to invest in the area. Thanks to effectively utilizing its potential and advantages, in recent years, the commune's economy has continued to maintain a fairly strong growth momentum. The average growth rate of production value reached 12%/year; average per capita income reached 64 million VND/year; and the poverty rate decreased to 1.7%. In preparation for the merger of commune-level administrative units, Thai Hung is determined to ensure that the economic development process is not interrupted.
