Goalkeeper disaster in the Champions League

In the early hours of March 11th, Antonin Kinsky was substituted after just 17 minutes in Tottenham's 2-5 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the round of 16.

Vicario came on as a substitute but couldn't prevent Tottenham from suffering a crushing defeat. In the remainder of the match, the Premier League side conceded two more goals, from Robin Le Normand and Julian Alvarez respectively. All the visitors could manage were consolation goals scored by Pedro Porro and Dominic Solanke at the end of each half.

The 2-5 defeat has virtually closed the door on Tottenham's progress in the continental competition. Despite having home advantage in the second leg, the North London club will need a miracle to overturn the deficit against their La Liga opponents.
