Philippine prodigy receives 1 million euros bonus from PSG.

It's hard to believe, but the Filipino-Spanish star Dro Fernandez will receive a bonus of up to 1 million euros, equivalent to 30.6 billion VND, thanks to PSG's Champions League victory.

This information was confirmed by the prestigious newspaper L'Equipe ahead of the final, stating that PSG would reward each player on the team with 1 million euros, including the Filipino star Dro Fernandez.

Initially, this information was somewhat controversial, as PSG stated they would reward every player in the team, regardless of whether they were key players or not.

This "equal-rate" reward policy is not commonly applied in top-level football, because everyone knows that within a team, there are significant differences in the importance of each player.

But for PSG, they want to spread a culture of "fairness, creating a shared desire for teamwork, from the training ground to the pitch".

Accordingly, purely reserve players like Lee Kang In or Dro Fernandez – although not very important on the field – are still essential to the team's training process. And therefore, PSG will reward each of them with a huge sum of money.

During the PSG team's victory celebration and trophy presentation, fans could spot Dro Fernandez. He joined in the enthusiastic atmosphere of the French team and also received a lot of interaction from the team's stars.

Dro Fernandez, only 18 years old this year, is a player with dual Spanish-Filipino citizenship. According to the transfer website Transfermarkt and the Soccerzz database, Sarmiento's mother is Filipino, while his father is Spanish.

Dro Fernandez is fully qualified to play for the Philippines national team right now, despite having played for Spain's youth teams.

The Filipino star rose through the ranks of Barca's youth academy before making a high-profile transfer to PSG in January of this year.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick once expressed his anger over the young Filipino player "defecting" from the team that had trained him. But in top-level football, this is not uncommon.

At PSG, Dro Fernandez made 13 appearances in the second half of the season, one of which was in the Champions League.

The Filipino star has therefore officially received a massive bonus of 1 million euros (1.16 million USD), an amount far exceeding the salary of a young player.
