June, exam season

June arrives, bringing with it the dry sunshine and sudden summer showers, like a transitional season full of emotion. On the school grounds, the flame trees still blaze a fiery red, illuminating a corner of the sky.

In the familiar classrooms, a solemn atmosphere prevails, the warm voices of teachers resonate, blending with the myriad emotions in the students' eyes: anxiety, nervousness mixed with determination and hope. The 2025 high school graduation exam has officially begun, opening a new journey full of challenges and meaning.

June arrives, bringing with it a whirlwind of emotions. Hearing the restless knocking of summer, do you remember all those memories? Yearbook photos, heartfelt farewell messages, hurried hugs in the school hallway... all will be kept in a corner of our hearts, so that later, when we look back, we'll smile and whisper: "That June, we went through an exam season together."

For graduating high school students, June is always the most cherished time. It's a time of diligent study, the gentle rustling of pages in the quiet of the night, the clicking of keyboards as they search for materials, and the drops of sweat smudging the ink on the paper. It's also the tense gaze following each word, trying to memorize more knowledge before the crucial graduation exam.

June is the season of faith. Faith that every effort will eventually be rewarded, that every endeavor today is the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. And faith that, no matter the final outcome, these months will forever remain the most beautiful memories in everyone's life.

Behind the school gates today, the voices of countless young dreams resonate. A poor student, orphaned at a young age and relying on his grandmother, who is over seventy years old, seemed to have his journey to school come to an end. However, driven by a burning desire for education to illuminate his life, and thanks to the generosity of many kind-hearted people, he was able to continue his education.

Despite suffering from a terminal illness, this young student is determined to enter university to pursue her dream career... These dreams, nurtured over many years, are now gradually becoming a reality. The high school graduation exam is not simply a test of knowledge, but a gateway to the future, a launching pad for countless aspirations to soar.

Expectations come not only from the students themselves but also from their families, teachers, and the community. Parents expect their children to succeed and have a bright future. Teachers expect the "seeds" they sow to bear fruit. These expectations sometimes create pressure, but more than anything, they are a powerful motivator, urging students to strive relentlessly. Because after months of hard work and studying, the reward is not just a diploma, but also pride, self-confidence, and affirmation of their tireless efforts.

As for me, June always evokes fond memories of that year's university entrance exam season. My father drove me on his old Honda Cub motorcycle. Throughout the long journey, he would turn to me and remind me in a firm yet loving voice: "Just focus on the exam; leave the transportation and accommodation in Saigon to me."

Saigon, with its numerous intersections and traffic lights, caused my motorbike to break down more than once in the middle of nowhere. Sweat soaked my father's shirt, and worry was evident on his face – not because he himself was stuck in traffic, but because he feared I would be late for my important exam. At that moment, I understood more than ever: behind my journey to acquire knowledge were the early mornings my father spent wading through the fields in the cold mist, the scorching afternoons he still toiled in the rice paddies, the rickety motorbike breaking down in unfamiliar streets, and above all, the silent faith he placed in me.

Now, whenever I stand on the podium and look into the eyes of my students – some shining with innocence, others burdened with worries – I see myself from that time, with my dream of soaring high and a father silently standing behind me. I know that somewhere behind them, there are fathers and mothers who, day and night, sacrifice meals and sleep – all to give their children wings. Just like my father did all those years ago.

June, the exam season, is a significant milestone in every student's journey. It holds countless memories of a youthful period filled with aspirations and burning dreams. Looking back, we smile because everything we experienced in June has contributed to shaping who we are today: stronger, more mature, and ready to face any new challenges ahead.
