Establish 3 food safety inspection teams

ĐNO - From April 15 to May 15, the "Month of action for food safety" in 2025 will take place. Accordingly, the city established 3 interdisciplinary inspection teams to inspect food production and trading establishments and catering services.

According to Plan No. 63-KH/BCDLNATTP dated April 10 of the Inter-sectoral Steering Committee for Food Safety (ATTP), during the action month, the Food Safety Management Board chaired and established an inter-sectoral inspection team including: Food Safety Management Board, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Police Investigation of Economic Crimes, Corruption, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes (City Police), Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Department of Culture - Society under the City People's Council and other relevant units to inspect food production and trading establishments and food service businesses in the city.

In particular, the Inspection Team develops a plan to clearly define the objectives, contents, and objects of the inspection; fully prepares relevant documents, sampling equipment, and rapid testing tools at the scene; strictly handles and publicizes violations in food production and trading on mass media.

At the same time, establish 2 specialized inspection teams to inspect food production and trading establishments, food service businesses and food advertising establishments according to management levels.

For the Department of Health, direct affiliated units to coordinate with specialized agencies and units in inspecting food production and trading establishments and catering services.

For the Department of Agriculture and Environment, organize inspections and checks at primary production facilities, livestock and poultry slaughterhouses, and fishing vessels according to management levels; strictly control vehicles transporting livestock and poultry into the city through animal quarantine stations; check compliance with regulations on means of transport and containers of animal products after slaughter before transporting them out of slaughterhouses.

For the Department of Industry and Trade, coordinate with the Food Safety Management Board and relevant agencies and units in inspecting and supervising to ensure food safety for markets under its management.

The City Police (Department of Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment) presides over and coordinates with the City Food Safety Management Board and the City Department of Education and Training to grasp the situation, manage, control, and supervise businesses, fast food establishments, and collective kitchens, especially collective kitchens in industrial parks and schools.

Focus on combating, detecting and handling crimes and violations of the law such as: production and trading of food, collective kitchens that do not ensure food safety; trading in smuggled food, goods of unknown origin, expired; using poor quality raw materials, additives, processing aids, preservatives not on the list of permitted substances or exceeding the permitted dosage limit in food production, processing and preservation...

District and county levels shall base on the plan to implement activities according to the management hierarchy; organize inspection teams with sufficient authority and prepare full documents, forms, and tools to quickly inspect, strictly and promptly handle violations in food production and trading.

Regarding the communication campaign, the Department of Culture and Sports is responsible for chairing and directing communication activities on local mass media about food safety during the Action Month.

The Food Safety Management Board presides over and coordinates with the City Police, Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, District People's Committees and related units to organize a conference to deploy the Action Month 2025. Organize propaganda by hanging banners and streamers; coordinate with the City Traffic Safety Board to broadcast propaganda on ensuring food safety at traffic lights.

In addition, coordinate with food production, processing, and business establishments, catering services, and schools to hang banners and propaganda pennants in response to the Action Month, with an estimated 100 units in the city.

At the end of the action month, units and localities will report implementation results to the City Food Safety Management Board before May 20.
