This poetry collection brings together eight authors: Duyen An, Tuong Chi, Nhien Dang, Le Trong Nghia, Van Phi, Ho Minh Tam, My Tien, and Nguyen Dang Thuy Trang. Each contributes ten poems with their own unique style, yet they blend together into a common melody, filled with poignant and heartfelt love for their homeland.

We can easily read touching verses, like the feelings of someone returning home after being away, always greeted by open arms: "Father welcomed me with his rickety old cart, following the market day after day / Mother welcomed me with a smile that has endured many seasons of separation / Memories of home begin from the kitchen / The smell of crab paste and sweet potato leaves wafts out / The rustic scent that has repeatedly crept into dreams of prosperity…" ( The Embrace of Home - Duyen An).
Or perhaps somewhere in the silence lies the homeland of childhood, of running barefoot chasing fireflies, the homeland of swaying bamboo hammocks accompanied by grandmother's lullabies, the homeland of wood-burning stoves, wells, thatched roofs, and even the orphaned dreams that the child carried throughout life: "At the beginning of summer, my house / Tonight the south wind has begun to blow fiercely / cutting into me the poignant scene of orphanhood / The incense burner silently burns for the rest of my life / I return, head over heels / to the sweetness and bitterness of my homeland" ( At the Beginning of Summer - Tuong Chi).
On another level, "homeland" in this poetry collection is not just villages, fields, or old houses, but an inner homeland, a spiritual homeland. This homeland is not only present in the landscape, but is hidden in every fold of memory, every line of poetry, every grain of rice hastily washed by a poor mother, or even hidden in a cracked piece of Go Sanh pottery, evoking an entire culture that was once glorious: "From the heart of the earth / the broken pottery piece emerges / like the sigh of the source / before the winds of the century" ( Pottery Piece and the Breath of the Earth - Le Trong Nghia).
The poetry collection is also a journey back to its roots, to the old home, to the river, the fields, the village markets, the sound of temple bells, the midday sunbeams, the lullabies of grandmother, the image of father bending over in the fields, the shadow of mother returning late at night after a day at the market… All these beloved images appear with heartfelt emotion and profound depth, becoming the source of inspiration and the soul of the poetry collection.
In a context where contemporary poetry constantly seeks "new possibilities" and enthusiastically expresses itself, this collection of poems allows us to slow down with contemplation, to reflect on our homeland, the human condition, and to examine ourselves. This is also how those from the countryside maintain their connection amidst an era of loss and change...
