MU were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves after the first 45 minutes. But in the second half, the "Red Devils" surged forward and scored three goals in quick succession, securing a 4-1 victory.
Speaking after the match, coach Amorim said the crucial changes came at halftime. “It wasn’t a tactical issue,” he emphasized. “We controlled the game but couldn’t finish the chances we wanted. I told the players they had 45 minutes to win three points, which is extremely important for us.”
After a lackluster first 45 minutes, MU were determined to fight back and exert strong pressure in the second half. By maintaining this intense pressure, the "Red Devils" exploited their opponent's weaknesses and capitalized on opportunities to secure the victory.
“Manchester United were a bit loose in their passing, which gave Wolves more hope. We should have ended the first half differently. But at halftime, the whole team understood that we had everything to win and we did,” said coach Amorim.
The victory against Wolves helped MU climb to 6th place with 25 points, level with Chelsea and just one point behind Crystal Palace in 4th place. In the next round, Ruben Amorim's team will return home to host Bournemouth.
