On the afternoon of May 12th, the Ministry of Health announced that there were 2,439 new cases during the day, a decrease of 384 cases compared to May 11th.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 11,587,829 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. In terms of the number of cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (an average of 117,104 cases per million people).
Data reported daily by provincial and city health departments on the Covid-19 management system of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, shows that the number of patients declared recovered each day is 964; the total number of recovered cases is 10,631,224.
The number of patients currently receiving oxygen is 85, including: Oxygen via mask: 75 cases; high-flow non-invasive ventilation (HFNC): 5 cases; non-invasive mechanical ventilation: 0 cases; invasive mechanical ventilation: 5 cases; no cases require ECMO.
One death was recorded today in Tay Ninh .
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,201, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.
The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 territories, and the number of deaths per million population ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories worldwide. Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 (3rd in ASEAN), and the number of deaths per million population ranks 29th out of 50 Asian countries and territories (5th in ASEAN).
On May 11th, 6,452 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses administered is 266,312,906, including: 223,670,682 doses for people aged 18 and over: 70,908,655 doses of the first dose; 68,452,878 doses of the second dose; 14,343,927 doses of the booster dose; 52,116,777 doses of the first booster dose; and 17,848,445 doses of the second booster dose.
The total number of doses for children aged 12-17 years is 23,965,543: 9,130,889 doses for the first dose; 9,021,366 doses for the second dose; and 5,813,288 doses for the first booster dose.
The total number of doses for children aged 5-11 years is 18,676,681: Dose 1: 10,219,715 doses; Dose 2: 8,456,966 doses.
