According to the Ministry of Health 's Covid-19 prevention and control bulletin, on May 29th, there were 846 new Covid-19 cases, nearly three times more than the previous day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 11,610,724 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. In terms of the number of cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (an average of 117,335 cases per million people).

On May 29th, 131 cases were announced as recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 10,637,654. 35 critically ill patients are currently under monitoring and treatment; of these, 25 are receiving oxygen via face mask; 6 are receiving high-flow non-invasive ventilation (HFNC); 3 are on non-invasive mechanical ventilation; and 1 is on invasive mechanical ventilation.
The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,206, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of cases.
On May 28th, 78 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered. Thus far, a total of 266,406,399 doses have been given. Of these, 223,739,018 doses were given to people aged 18 and over: 70,909,168 doses were the first dose; 68,455,652 doses were the second dose; 14,344,115 doses were booster shots; 52,132,872 doses were the first booster shot; and 17,897,211 doses were the second booster shot.
Vaccinations for children aged 12-17 years totaled 23,965,543 doses: 9,130,889 doses for the first dose; 9,021,366 doses for the second dose; and 5,813,288 doses for the first booster dose.
A total of 18,701,838 doses were administered to children aged 5-11 years: 10,227,642 doses for the first dose and 8,474,196 doses for the second dose.
