Ms. Nguyen Trung Hanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Phu commune, said that the locality still faces many difficulties and the people's lives are lacking. Although the government pays great attention to investing in educational facilities, it still does not fully meet the increasingly high learning needs of students. For many years, teachers and students of Vinh Hoi Dong B Primary School have strived to overcome difficulties in teaching and learning under dilapidated classroom conditions, affecting the quality of education.
Mr. Dang Hoang Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, said that based on the local needs, the organization mobilized the Sunflower Mission (USA) to provide aid for a project to build 6 classrooms at Vinh Hoi Dong B Primary School. The project includes the construction of 6 new classrooms to standard specifications; a restroom area; the provision of 30 new computers; a playground and outdoor play equipment; and the organization of a summer camp exchange program. The total value of the project's funding is over 4.9 billion VND; of which, over 4.2 billion VND is non-refundable grant funding, and 690 million VND is counterpart funding from the regular expenditure budget of the An Phu Commune People's Committee.
The project has created a safe, clean, and pleasant learning and playing environment for 462 students at Vinh Hoi Dong B Primary School, laying the foundation for the sustainable maintenance and development of the primary school system in An Phu commune. Mr. Dang Hoang Dien said: “I hope that all students will have a brighter future, become good citizens, and global citizens to contribute to building a better An Phu homeland.”
Not only do students at Vinh Hoi Dong B Primary School have access to a better learning environment, but they also have the opportunity to access modern technology through a computer lab equipped with 30 new computers. For many children in this border region, computers were once only seen in books or through stories told by their teachers. In the context of the education sector's push for digital transformation, the new computer lab will serve as a bridge, helping students access knowledge, improve their information technology skills, gradually narrow the gap with students in more developed areas, and create a foundation for them to confidently integrate into society in the future.
According to Mr. Ha Minh Phuong, Principal of Vinh Hoi Dong B Primary School, the school has faced many difficulties regarding its facilities in the past. Some classrooms were dilapidated, and the conditions for teaching and learning were limited, affecting the quality of education. Understanding these difficulties, the leaders of An Phu commune and sponsors have given the school special attention. After a period of urgent, serious, and responsible construction, the new building of 6 classrooms has been completed and officially put into use, much to the joy of the teachers, students, and local people. “These sturdy, clean, and beautiful classrooms, along with the spacious and safe grounds, are an invaluable gift to the teachers and students of the school. Receiving this meaningful project, we will manage, use, and maintain it effectively, maximizing its value to better serve teaching and learning,” Mr. Ha Minh Phuong shared.
| “These new classrooms are not only places for teaching literacy but also for sowing the seeds of the future for our border region. The attention of the sponsors has contributed to spreading the spirit of compassion, social responsibility, and conveying a beautiful message about accompanying education and supporting poor children in the difficult border areas,” said Ms. Nguyen Trung Hanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Phu commune. |
